That is a wonderful moving story Molly. (so she broke up with him anyway, not too smart of him) but I guess he didn't care anymore anyway.

Wouldn't it be great if he could ever approach you and at least just say "I'm sorry" (and really mean it)? That would mean everything to me if someone I loved that abused me AT LEAST approached me years down the line, and apologized!

The toughest thing is recognizing abuse and breaking free. As you know it can be almost hypnotizing. Those that are not caught in the abuse cycle do not understand. It's way more difficult to break free when you really love that person.

And the fear and sadness you talk about (the boss thing that's so funny and true lol!) is almost like feeling sorry for the abuser.

I think that's why sometimes people get sucked back in and they shouldn't, they feel sorry for someone who is so mean to them.

Some people do not get free and they end up dead. Good for you that you broke away (and were able to break away) and became free! Not all are so lucky, but they should strive for that freedom in every possible way.
