Yes, the swelling and burning is normal for the black salve(if the mole had any cancerous cells). I have used it on three different moles and each reacted a little differently but all burned. I noticed that if I reapplied the salve after a bath, it really burned but only for a little while (30-45 min.). I used ointments like neosporin or petroleum jelly just to keep it soft. During the course of treatment and just before the end of treatment, I noticed little spider veins going out from the center of the mole and that was the roots of the mole being destroyed and after that time the healing took place and the skin healed back over the hole and now I cannot even tell where the moles happened to be.

I have also gone on a body cleanse program, gotten rid of parasites and yeast(my health food store recommended a product called "Cell Food" - at that time I had no clue that this killed the yeast and parasites until I saw them in my stool), and have used Barlean's Flax Seed Oil (Coldpressed) and cottage cheese which is Dr. JoAnna Budwig's formula for treating cancer. I do not want any repeats of anymore moles needing the black salve.

My husband also had a large mole on his forehead - very fiberous and hard in nature. His doctor wanted him to remove it with surgery but we applied the black salve - no burning or anything but it began to eat away at the mole and it came off in chunks, then the swelling and spiderlike veins appeared and healed. Now no scars at all on his forehead.
