It's a tough one for sure, but I doubt the parasite itself causes any tissue damage. It is the ability to have very active reproduction cycles which make it tenacious. The toxins are a big problem. Not exactly from the parasite, but from your immune-cells.
Anti-histamines may help. Shroom
