Hey magma - I hear you about the nursing and postponing a cleanse. I think any amount of coconut oil you give your toddler and yourself is better than none. It's beneficial at any level.

It's really awful what the commercial practices are doing with meat these days. That's why it doesn't surprise me to hear stories like yours. I went veggie in March and I will not go back. I really think it's an insidious source of parasite infections. The eggs are not visible to the naked eye, but they're buried in the tissues of the meat.

Fun stuff to think about!

Anyway, I hope you and everyone else who sampled the dish did not get infected. Chances are, if you had the heat high enough for long enough, everything harmful was killed.
