Hiya #57844,
Welcome to the Liver Flush Forum !
I've done 26 liver flushes, and I use Moritz' protocol as well. It's similar to the Clark protocol, but simpler, and drinking water during the entire flush (except within 20 minutes of any of the drinks) is important.
If you're just starting with this, you should keep in mind that your liver is hoarding a lifetime's worth of toxins and metabolic debris, in addition to stones. If you want to do Liver Flushing safely, you should be prepared to listen to your body, and let it guide you.
Moritz recommends a 4 week wait between flushes. I've found that the time varies according to your health.
When I started, I knew I had a very toxic-laden body. I discovered this graphically when attempting my first Master Cleanse before doing any of the other cleanses. What a mistake! The Herxheimer's Effect (that can be googled) was so strong (bad breath, smelly Body Odor and sweat, extreme brain fog, and snappy mood) were so bad that my co-workers complained and I could not stand to live with myself.
So, I embarked on a series of cleanses to prepare for the liver flush, which was my goal all along. I did a parasite and Colon Cleanse (they work well together) using P&B shakes and Clarkia (for more info, click on "Cleansing" at the top of the page. Then I prepared and did my first liver cleanse.
Great results! Incredible Herxheimer's Effects, too, argh!
So, I let my body tell me when it was ready for the next one. I let 4 weeks go by, then prepared and did my next Liver Flush on the 5th week.
Great results! Incredible Herxheimer's Effects, too, but not as bad.
To make a long story short, The first 6 liver flushes, I spaced 5 - 4 weeks apart. Once detox symptoms were gone (and only then), I'd start preparing for the next one. The next 6 liver flushes, I spaced 4 - 3 weeks apart. The next 6 or so liver flushes, I spaced 3 - 2 weeks apart. If I had strong Herxheimer's Effects, I'd wait until they all cleared up. From about the 18th Liver Flush on, I've done them about every 2 weeks.
Once you do your first liver flush, you'll see what I mean. The stones that come out (it might take a few flushes to loosen them up enough to come out) are often accompanied by strong acid, and trust me, you want your butt to be healed before you attempt the next one! It's exciting when the stones come out, but then you have about 10 days when the toxins are gradually clearing your system. And just because the obvious symptoms have cleared up (like rashes, brain fog, muscle spasms, feeling off, etc etc, many of which might be traced back to a lack of magnesium) it doesn't mean your body has recovered internally. So I say, wait until the 10 days are up AT LEAST and then, if your body is strong and healthy again, start the 6-day preparation. Once you've done a few flushes, you'll be better equipped to judge when your body, with it's own individual health history and present day condition, is ready.
As Andreas Moritz says, the liver flush is like doing surgery on your body. It took a lifetime to get to where you are now. Doing Liver Flushes can bring your body back to an incredibly good state of health - perhaps better than you've ever felt. But if you rush things, you can damage your liver and kidneys. So pay attention to how your body feels, and you will realize that only YOU can decide how far apart your flushes can be.
Good luck!
