It's a strange thing these wild animals. Hummingbirds never settle down, and attack one another as viciously as humans grasping for power, fame, or oil. But sometimes, and it's rare, when I step into the nearby forests, and if I am gentle and sing to them, they will surround me as if I am food but not attack; and when I am singing to them, they don't attack each other, just circle around me. This has only happened a half dozen times in the last decade, and mostly I am my lower, vengeful, nasty self. But I think on rare occasions, when I have sung to them in an invented tune and strange words, I tap a song of something bigger than myself. Maybe it's not the song, but that I smell good!

Your theory about Daniel offers a lot to think about. Thank you.
