Re: A thinking person

It troubles me that so many of today's students are taught that a good education means being able to regurgitate information without really understanding what they have learned. Educated may mean having the skill set to relay information on demand, intelligence is knowing what that information means, wisdom is the ability to apply that information when it is needed, genius is building upon that information and using it to seek truth and the betterment of one's fellow humans.

Education is good, but unless it is accompanied by intelligence and wisdom, we will not see much in the way of genius. Better an eighth grade formal education with a passion for learning and understanding, than multiple degrees in regurgitation and oral diarrhea.
