Re: Scientific back - up for the use of glyconutritionals & cancer

My name is Carole & my husband's name is Geza. In June 1999 Geza had stomach problems and went to our family Doctor who gave him a prescription for med's
but they didn't help. On Jan 25, 2000 he had an Endyoscopie. He was diagnosed with CANCER and on Feb 25, 2000 he went for surgery to remove the tumor
which was 3"x6". Along with that, Geza had to have the remainder 1/3 of his stomach removed. Years ago, due to surgery for ulcers, they had to remove 2/3 of his
stomach and now the remainder had to go because of cancer. They were able to form a pouch to act as a small stomach. My husband had been taking Glyconutrients at maintenance level amounts prior to this but on finding out
about the cancer, we increased the amounts he was taking drastically.
During and after the operation to remove the tumour, the Dr. saw unsuspected changes in his tumour. He had never seen CANCER DIE SO FAST. His recovery was also
different from the Dr. had expected. The Dr. said Geza would be in the Hospital for 2 weeks but he was out in 7 days. We believe the reason for his dramatic turnaround was that he had increased his Glyconutrients to very
large amounts.
The mistake we made, because of finances, was to go back to maintenance amounts of the Glyconutrients after the recovery period, rather than giving the body a year to clear itself of any cancer that was still there but was
too small to be seen yet. On April 12 he was Cancer free and his blood work and bone marrow tests were O.K. All the tests showed he was fine. But, in July he had pain and we went to our family Dr. who arranged for a C.A.T.
scan. My husband had CANCER again but it came back in a different area.
This time is showed up on his diaphragm. He was diagnosed with Advanced Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma. On Aug 14, 2000 we decided to do chemo along with the maintenance amounts of Glyconutrients. Geza went through a very bad time
with this Cancer and we believed we were going to loose him. He was so bad that together we made final arrangements. We then increased his Glyconutrients to very large amounts again and his turnaround was amazing
and evident very quickly. His Cancer is now under remission and his tests are all good. The Dr.'s are pleased with his progress. This time we will continue on large amounts of Glyconutrients for a year after he has no signs
of cancer, and then go back to maintenance amounts.
The cost of this disease was unreal financially, as well as the stress it caused and the time it takes out of your life. I am a wife, caregiver, homemaker, full-time employee, a daughter, a mother, and a grandmother. My
days off work were spent at the Cancer Clinic with my husband's chemo treatments which took anywhere from 5 to 7 hours. The I.V. treatment was covered by O. H. I. P. but not the oral chemo and my drug plan covered 80%,
the other 20% had to be paid out of my pocket. This totaled $120.00 each month, money that we just don't have, as I'm the main income and Geza is on a
small income as he is retired. Also there were costs you don't think of like parking which was $8.00 every time we went to the clinic. I made a lunch for
us when we went for treatments as we were there for most of the day. Even though they had a Tim Hortons at the clinic we couldn't afford to buy lunches. The Social Worker at the Cancer Clinic was of little help, so I spent time doing the research as to where I could get help to cover the cost
of oral chemo, help for my husband at home while I was at work, and where to learn about his Cancer and the side effects of the chemo. I kept a daily diary that I started in Aug. when he started the chemo and visits to the Dr.
and the clinic. I still write in it now as to Geza's health and his med's etc.
So to make a LONG STORY SHORT my husband takes large amounts of Glyconutrients each month. He uses 3 bulk Glyconutrients, 2 bulk Phytonutrients, 2 bottles of Phytosterols and 2 bottles of Vitamins. This
would cost approx.$700.00 U.S. each month, again money we don't have, but I was able to find help to get the needed quantity. Just recently I added up the cost of the oral chemo and other med's my husband needed. That came to
$3,283.65. For example, Vepesid 10 tablets for $345.53 and this prescription was only part of the oral chemo he needed and was repeated 6 times. Parking at the clinic totaled $240.00. These are out of pocket costs we don't think
about when thinking of dealing with a serious disease.
The GOOD NEWS is Geza is in remission. The Dr's say HOW GOOD his blood counts and other tests are and we believe we know why - "GLYCONUTRIENTS". We are thankful that my husband is alive today, and doing well.
