Re: OT: Vitamin D levels chart
Firstly,
Yes, but "flu-like" symptoms on a fast does not necessarily mean that the influenza virus has taken hold. We should therefore avoid any similarity between the "symptoms of detox" and that of actual influenza.
According to the Vitamin D Council, Cholecalciferol or Vitamin D3 produced synthetically, is chemically identical to that produced within the skin with the aid of Cholesterol. This is also true of synthetic Ascorbate for example, which is chemically identical with the Vitamin C produced from plants (Dr Steve Hickey, a Medical Biophysicist, who wrote "Ascorbate: The
Science of Vitamin C", and has extreme therapeutic value.
It is true though that nutrients do act in unison or act synergistically as a team, but that does not negate an individual nutrients ability to heal at higher than normal doses (Eisenmenger Syndrome cured via high dose synthetic Ascorbate of 24 grams per day)....Dr Hickey.
The question really is: what is an optimized level of Vitamin D for the body?, and where current RDI's are woefully inadequate. Supplemental Vitamin D is therefore only making up the shortfall to optimized levels that we would normally obtain from sunlight exposure and in its absence.
We should also be aware that detox is part of the nutritional cycle that occurs 24/7, it is just the retention of toxins that tend to accumulate in adipose tissue, that create health problems for one and all......including viral infections such as influenza.
