There will always be people trying to come up with stuff that hasn't been done before. Which is what makes the world tick. And this would have been ahead of it's time. Ultimately it was building a better mousetrap. And that isn't a deragatory statement. In todays age it would be obsolete. But at the time it was more then just a place to watch or not watch prisoners from. And I have driven by the one mentioned in Worcester Ma.

That I don't know. The specific architectural design may be obsolete but whether the concepts involved have been furthered............
