Re: Natural Acne Treatment

Hello Dr. Malawade,

Thank you for sharing your treatment of acne. I'd like to share my success story dealing with this disease.

Progressively through the years, my skin got worse specially during that time of the month (for girls) so I went to a dermatologist in search of help. She asked me if I drank enough water and I said I did. She said food had no relation to my skin. I could eat anything I wanted.

So after I heard that, I stopped eating oatmeal in the morning and ate fried corned beef. I ate fried food and whatever I liked (cheese, chocolate, salty etc).

I am a slow eater and I was taught to down my food with water so I can finish eating faster. I didn't know that this was a very harmful habit!

Little did I know that I was plugging my system with toxins so much so that my skin worsened all the more. After months of pricking, hormonal meds and so many more breakouts, I didn't even want to leave home anymore. The small pimples before became angry cystic Acne and it was really really bad (believe me). The derma would prick and it would scar and then she even put me on this expensive laser treatment that would dry the pimple one day and then it would transfer the next day!!!

Needless to say this was a desperate time for me. In the midst of heartbreak and hopelessness, a friend said, "what were you doing before you started having this problem? Just go back to that." Words of wisdom.

I started going back to my old habit of eating oatmeal in the morning. My Acne subsided a bit but would still periodically appear. Then I started researching online. My mom helped by giving me an effective green tea to drink and this started clearing up my face fast though the scars from all the pricking were still there.

Researching day and night, I found out that my habit of drinking water to help the food go down was a nasty habit. It would quench the digestive juices from breaking down the food and it would cause a leaky gut in my system - making the food - toxin, instead of nourishment for my body.

Once I started drinking water (and lots of it throughout the day) before my meals and not after, I noticed really significant benefits. Slow but sure! I found that I didn't really drink a lot of water, I just thought I did.

This process cleaned out my system. My skin, by breaking out, was actually helping me, not going against me. It was cleansing my system and helping me to remain healthy. When I started doing all this - 8 glasses or more of water a day (not drinking after a meal), green tea, no more fried or junk food, shrimp (basically trying to eat more foods that heal, then foods that kill in the curezone section on foods), my Acne started to go away permanently.

I actually wish that I knew all this before because now I don't break out anymore, even when I would sleep late. It also helps not to touch your skin, except to exfoliate. No pricking at all!!!

I also noticed that my PMS is not totally gone. It's NOT normal to have PMS or acne, or they say there is no cure but there is - it's eating right, drinking water, cleaning out your system of toxins. This is a true success story and I thank God for helping me out of this very horrible episode in my life. I also thank God for my family and friends who always tried to help and support me through all of it.
