Re: What I dont understand....

Hello Mmsdebunked,

Not only are you late to the party, but you missed the point about this discussion looking at the role of oxidizers in the body.

We have looked at Jim Humble and his various Miracle-Mineral-Supplement protocols and found that his claims are not verifiable, his chemistry is wrong, and the basis of his claims don't hold up to the Science involved with these chemicals. Not only are there no indications of proof of cure, the Science behind the "idea" of using chlorine dioxide in the body says that chlorine dioxide is so unstable that it doesn't exist inside the body.

As far as Jim Humble and the various Miracle-Mineral-Supplement protocols go, the evidence, even with the anecdotal reports, is not supportive, and the concentrations of the chemicals used are high enough to be considered bleaching agents.

In one informal review that I did it seems that the expected results from the placebo effect is more effective than the Miracle-Mineral-Supplement protocol.

However, the sub title of this section is sodium chlorite. Sodium chlorite is a much broader topic than MMS. Sodium chlorite has been around a lot longer than MMS, and some efforts have been made to study it.

The WF-10 efforts started out using sodium chlorite. I don't know what happened with those trials, but the initial results were promising. They have completed Phase I and II trials, and perhaps they are getting the money together to complete the Phase III trials. The efforts using sodium chlorite to disinfect blood from HIV were very effective with plasma. If you or a pet have nail fungus, you can conduct your own test and follow the directions for removing nail fungus using sodium chlorite. You will find that it is very effective. The same goes for the studies, tests, and trials done with the various mouthwash products and contact lens solutions. Another application was the use of sodium chlorite to eliminate ear infections. The clinical trial that brought this to light was removed because sodium chlorite is EPA labeled as a pesticide and not an antibiotic. While some of the chemotherapy drugs are derived from DDT, it is rare that the FDA allows a pesticide to be used as an antibiotic. Chlorine dioxide gas, obtained from sodium chlorite, at very low concentrations has been studied and found to offer protection against air born pathogens.

Note that none of these applications have anything to do with Jim Humble or the various MMS protocols. Jim Humble has tried to "cash in" on the claims from these discoveries and applications, but he doesn't know how the chemistry or the body works. Jim Humble is wrong and the MMS protocol(s) are flawed.

Once we remove Jim Humble and MMS from the discussion, we are left with sodium chlorite. Sodium chlorite is widely used to control pathogens. The critical thinker will look at the various studies that have been done, and realize that it is very effective. The possibility thinker will ponder the idea that sodium chlorite is an oxidizer and that the body runs on oxidation. And then push the research efforts a bit further to see if the oxidizer sodium chlorite can also help the body. There is some evidence that other oxidizers like iodine, hydrogen peroxide, and ozone can have some benefit in some cases, is it possible that sodium chlorite can also have some benefit in some cases...?

The anecdotal reports surrounding sodium chlorite (excluding all references to Jim Humble and MMS) indicate that there could be some benefit to the body from sodium chlorite. IF the critical thinking confirms the possibility that the oxidation provided by sodium chlorite could be beneficial, then the possibility thinking kicks in to figure out how this could possibly work.

Visionary thinking kicks in when we figure out a beneficial way of using sodium chlorite after over 4 years of bashing Jim Humble and MMS on this forum. Perhaps this education can also point out that there may be several paths that lead to the same destination.

For example, if you cut your finger you need to clean the dirt out of it. In some cases a disinfectant may be considered for use. If you have 35% hydrogen peroxide, you wouldn't splash some of that on the cut because it will damage the skin. However, if you diluted it down to 1%, it can be effective at disinfection. But, disinfecting with hydrogen peroxide may interfere with the healing process. Perhaps a short blast of low concentration ozone would be better. Or a splash of iodine, or a splash of a sodium chlorite solution. On the other hand there are times when it may be best to just leave it alone and let the body heal on its own.

While you are running around looking for proof, you may want to jump over to the support side and look up Rico's miracle. You may not consider an ear infection serious, but when it resists all Antibiotic treatment and get to the point where the eardrum is shredded and it is at the skull, I think that bumps it up a notch or two. The wonderful oxidation properties of sodium chlorite have also helped with swimmers ear infections both as a prevention and as an aid in clearing it up.

Just to make sure we are on the same page here, there is no way that sodium chlorite will ever be a cure all, just like there is no way hydrogen peroxide is a cure all. Still, it has unique properties that may be beneficial to the body in certain circumstances.

The reservation I have is that while it may help in certain circumstances, it may only relieve symptoms and not deal with the main cause of the problem.

Tom
