 I highly disagree. These two people have very different point of views, and very controversial or extreme at that. It is this type of post that allows others to learn and know about such things. I havent said anything yet but I am reading and I'm sure many people are. I have yet to make a decision or come to a conclusion on the matter because I need to do my own research but HV and DQ both have made some interesting points. No one is required to the read this thread so if you dont like it, then don't read it. Otherwise, carry on.

I agree.  One thing debate does do as long as it is kept in check is to force people to present evidence to back their view.  This allows people to see what evidence is credible and which is more of an illusion.

On boards like the cancer support forum we do not have that opportunity since the dictator moderator there hides posts he disagrees with and decides what should be posted or not based on whether he feels the topic has been discussed thoroughly before.  There is no freedom of speech there, only freedom to post what the moderator agrees with.
