I've learned that privacy manager can only be used after the message is posted. So first you post under your real username or anonymous # ID.

Then you go back to your message and click on Privacy Manager.

It'll say "Privacy Manager for "your real username". That's the scary part. Don't worry, only you can see your real username, when you're logged on.

Then you click on Privacy Manager

Select just the forum you're in or all forums.

I always leave Real Username unchanged to prevent irreversible changes.

Select your fake username. In my case, I selected "Hidden Username".

Search and filter will be automatically disabled.

So that's all you have to do.

You'll have to do this every time you post a message, if you want your fake username to be used.
