Re: I've decided to stop moderating

I agree, moderation is needed, but this is not what we got, what we got was censorship.

This moderator used her power, as a moderator, to try and impose her personal views, bias and prejudice, onto others, this produced a forum where the worst offender against TOS was touted as a victim, and people who are always civil, were having their posts censored by this moderator.

Now the worst offender is running amok with name calling and personal attacks, because he thinks there is no moderation.

This is what the vast majority of people here wanted stopped, we didn't need someone to nit pick our posts, we simply asked for these personal attacks and name calling to stop.

There is only one person who seems to have not learnt from this experience, and if you go to the politics debate forum, you will see this poster in all his nastiness.

I agree with you DQ, in that moderating is best done by using the TOS as a guide, and also remembering that the people here are adults, and that these are Debate Forums , not Support Forums .

I think a system of warning a particular poster, before acting is a good idea. Once a post is deleted or edited, it cannot be restored, so erring on the side of caution is a good thing.

Some people are not cut out to be moderators, the job is stressful, and it is just not a job some people should do.
