I noticed this post mentioned Los Angeles or CA and wondered if any readers might live there. I am in LA, and I am starting this Sunday, August 1st a fasting support group for "food-addicted" people with candida and other digestive issues. I have found fasting to be the real solution for myself and truly believe in it... just wondered if anyone else felt the same way. Also, since I am a "food addict," I find it terribly difficult to learn to fast (though once I get into the habit it is easy... as with all health protocols, maybe...). So I am eagerly seeking people for mutual support for fasting!

I realize you are not posting regarding these issues, but the fasting group is open to anyone who for any reason at all is interested in fasting, for health or any reason under the sun!

I just wanted to tell you about my group. I really want to form a gathering of people to support each other in fasting -- especially for food addiction and digestive issues... you do not need to attend the first week or even frequently, of course. It is entirely free (it's at a grant-sponsored community center for support groups). To attend, you don't have to have any of the same symptoms as anyone else or identify yourself as addicted to food... the group also has a spiritual basis.
