Re:

...never did understand that sort of sentiment.
Give me a reason to leap out of bed and shout
and I'm off and running. My husband's family
never celebrated b-days, but we did. He said
those were the happiest b-days of his life. I
still gift him and he will send me something
special. Even after years, coming to a fork in
our path, he has never forgotten. Birthdays are
what you make of them. They signify a good time
to look back, and look ahead...another swing
around the sun, another moment to savor the
journey.

Would she be surprised if you "broke" the
tradition of not paying attention to that moment,
or would a cake and candles disappoint her?

Of course, in the dance of relationship, you
are not joined at the hip...that is the beauty
of that level of self-sovereignty. I can dance
by myself and celebrate my own life. I can
dance with others and allow them to celebrate
my life too. The reward....is a satisfied mind.

Chisel your way out of that rut my friend. One
way, or another, where you are going by staying
in it will not help you see the light of your
own making, nor will it rekindle the care you
wish for. Be kind to yourself...release your
expectations and revisit old inspirations...if
you find the joy in your life, it will be worth
the effort.

Its the Leo way, perhaps...

blessings,
Zoe
