I do think it is an individual thing. I will go off for very long periods of time, then just get back into it for a few weeks.
BTW, I like the toddy method of brewing. It makes a wonderfully low-acid, SMOOTH coffee. Here's the recipe:
Put 1 cup finely ground coffee into quart jar with spring water. Shake and soak overnight. Strain through coffee filter in the morning and GENTLY warm on the stove. DO NOT BOIL. Enjoy!
I usually make a smaller batch, so you can adjust accordingly. It uses a lot of coffee, but it is really smooth and low acid.
