Re: Kelp is a source of iodine but

Charlie, real iodine therapy is much more complex than just treating a symptom, it really is symbionic.

I'll give you just the basic crash course:

Glands have halogen receptors.

They are, of course, to be filled with halogens:  chlorine, fluoride, bromine, iodine.

We only need very minute amounts of chlorine, fluodie, bromine ... *sigh* but in our modern world, these things are in every thing we eat and drink.  These 3 are atomic-heavyweights in comparison to iodine.  They come to a halogen receptor and just have a seat right on top of the iodine (which is there feeding the gland) and literally just push it out of the receptor and replace it, overloading the glands with the bad halogens, poisoning us!

Like any other protocol, one had to DO NO HARM:

stay away from the bad halogens

And supplement with iodine that will detox the bad halogens as they begin to break down.

Filling halogen receptors all over the body with a feeding halogen instead of destructive ones seems to be about building health, not about treating symtoms.
