Re: Hydrochloric acid query

All i can find out Charlie about importing tinctures into the Uk is that if i wanted to import in huge bulk then i would need a license to do so. For retail purposes for example.
I cannot find anything pertaining to the individual consumer. I cannot also find out any banned herbs list. Although i do know in Ireland that Gingko Biloba is banned!

The only thing the person in the Uk would be liable to incur is a customs/excise/VAT bill if it is declared on the package to be:

If you purchase goods through the Internet you should be aware that customs duty and VAT will be payable, as follows:

* customs duty - if the amount of duty is £7 and over
* import VAT - if the value of the goods is £18 and over

I donot mind these charges, what i do mind is that they delay the parcel by up to 4 weeks and i have no idea how these parcels are stored. High temperatures in a warehouse for prolonged periods could potentially ruin a good tincture! (?)

You can use me as a guinea pig if you like Charlie - i will face the full brunt of the law if required! hahaa!
(Personally i find it suspect that this legal info is not easily researched online - i'm sure fines charged run this world!)
