Buffalo Gap? What's it got?

Well ... it has the most beautiful mesas you've ever seen ... in fact, that is why it's called Buffalo Gap ... there is a gap within the mesas and the buffalo used to cross there.

It has the largest live oak trees ... it is a small, quaint little town of about 500 ... very historical ... my family was the original settlers ... we owned all the land out where Lake Abilene is and the State Park (outside Buffalo Gap) ... and we had the courthouse built that is now in the Historic Village. (Buffalo Gap used to be the county seat until some rogues from Abilene came and stole the papers.)

Cattle? Lots of cattle.

Land? Lots of land.

Bar-B-Que? Let's just say my grandmother has operated the "Bar-B-Que Barn" for over 40 years there.

My great-grandfather was the mayor for over 30 years ... he is the one who brought liquor to the county ... he lost his title when he died at the age of 92.

Buffalo Gap is just 8 miles out of Abilene ... a very nice drive ... and Abilene's pop is at about 115,000 ... not too big and not too small.
