Walnuts:Plan to prevent Hair Loss

Can eating 10-12 walnuts each day help me prevent Hair-Loss?

I have had some problems with my hair drying out for the last few months and I looked at walnuts as a healthy way to get some Omega 3 fatty acids to restore my hair. If my hair was drying out then perhaps there was something else going wrong internally and my dry brittle hair was just a warning sign of something worse? I started this blog to make myself aware of the health benefits of walnuts and also to pass along any successes or failures I might have while I am working on my hair restoration plan.

I believe that eating a handful of walnuts each day will not treat my hair-loss, but rather eating a 10-12 walnuts each day will help give my immune system a chance to treat itself. A healthy immune system will hopefully provide my hair with the nutients it needs to give me a healthy head of hair. Walnuts might just be the food your body is begging for if you are looking for natural ways to avoid hair-loss. If you eat some walnuts and listen to your body, you might find they will help your body heal itself as well.

The research I have done so far about walnuts have convinced me that black walnuts are a wonderful and delicious way to be a more healthy person and that walnuts might help me avoid having all of my hair fall out. I have noticed that my hair has become less dry and brittle and maybe even thicker over the last few weeks. I had been taking vitamins and they were not having any positive effect on my hair. Walnuts have instead become a part of my strategy to keep my hair and avoid pattern baldness. I have been eating a handful of walnuts and switching off with almonds. Switching to almonds from time to time helps me avoid getting burned out on eiter of them. If my body tells me to stop eating any kind of food then I think I should listen. I have also been drinking about 2 ounces of aloe vera juice most days. I think the combination of nuts and aloe vera juice have helped me avoid further hair-loss and as a side benefit, I am now having two to three bowel movements each day. I know that having 2-3 bowel movements is supposed to be ideal and is twice as often as I have had in the past.

Supplying my body with healthy foods has also reduced my craving for sugar and especially sodas. I am sure my body appreciates getting what it needs from walnuts over refined sugar and I am also sure that there will be health benefits from this dietary change. I have even lost a few pounds. I just realized that... In any case, I am not saying walnuts are a cure-all but they are certainly on my list of favorite foods now.

Eveyone around me has been sick with flu and respiratory problems but I have managed to dodge it this year so far. When you give your system what it needs, your body has a better chance to fight off viruses and disease more effectively. Did the walnuts help? I can't say but my body seems to think so.

"The best advice I have about diet is just to eat wholesome, nutritious low fat meals. This certainly will not grow new hair, but it will keep you fit and healthy. Just to be safe, though, I mix some brewer’s yeast in a glass of orange juice in the morning for the vitamin B-complex, trace minerals, and amino acids. (See my article on brewer's yeast.) I also take a teaspoonful of cod liver oil and eat a few walnuts for the omega-3 fatty acids, and I eat some raw sunflower seeds and pecans for the omega-6."
