I think bioticsadp summed it up well with their posts...
I have noticed texture and color differences in the various bulk items I have bought. I have bought both Thorvin for animals and human consumption from Azure and Wolf Creek Ranch. I also use Maine Coast Dulse almost daily.
There is most likely nutrient differences from one crop or harvested kelp bed to another as well, accounting for variations in color, texture and efficacy. I guess it is something one just has to feel their way through and dose accordingly.
That said, Frontier and the Azure Standard Thorvin are both comparable in my opinion, with the Azure seeming to be a fresher product, at least it tastes and smells stronger; again in my opinion. Given that the Frontier is $7.50 a pound, and a 5 pound bag of Azure is $10, and they sell in 55 pound bags, $86, I will be getting mine from Azure... though I am still trying hard to work a deal for some hard to get clean source brown (in color) seaweed...
to be continued.
