I have came to the conclusion that 5% of the people must drive them selves crazy ove their credit cards. Most every day I have e-mails where the person placed an order and the same day and every day they check to see if their credit card was used and then there are the ones that only put enough $$ into a credit card to cver their order and seem to be scared to death that someone will use their card or something. Naturally these people slow all stores down with the constant looking up of their orders, etc.. Not to mention those that e-mail everyday wanting to know if thei order went out and want tracking numbers, etc., etc.... I now know why stores raise their prices to help these people out with their worries, a large store would need a full tim person just to satisfy their daily worries that their package may be delayed in route somewhere and as if them knowing which city ups has it in as it travles from spot to spot is going to make their package get there any quicker. In fact, they slow down their order because they ask so much.
The maybe 2% always want over night delivery I think just because they love the power trip that X amount of people have to speed down the highway to make the delivery just for them and my experience has been that the mail can't do it if its more than a few states away...
The more people get in a rush, the more they slow down the gears that drive the system. If I had to look at my credit card day by day I believe it would be time to get rid of the thing; once a month is depressing enough!!!!!!!!!!!
Many web stores push the idea that we will ship your order out the same day received or no later than 48 hours max and that is great, I LOVE IT....but there are still those few that must think I buy/stock/and grab off the shelf their order and that just doesn't happen. I make most of what I sell and those emergency orders knock the others to the next day and sometimes the next and the next and those that may take a week-10 days before they are shipping are waiting because in their order I am out of stock of a certain product and must wait for it to be done. If an order goes out within 10 days I say there doing all right, because some have waited longer. Naturally the little orders that want dewormer/lbb go out next day because they only take a minute to box, but those that want the more rare products and huge orders, often get put off until all the little easy orders are done.
The thing Brenda dislikes the most is when she has to stop and look up orders and when she sees it was ordered the same day the perosn is crying; "has it been shipped yet, I didn't see my credit card deducted yet, can you tell me the shipping and tracking number so I can watch for it", etc., etc.. and what fires her up the most are those that want huge orders and then require the shipping FIRST, knowing we never know the shipping until the order is completed and we are on line with UPS making the label and then when we call, the person doesn't answer, we don't know if they want the order or not, etc., etc and then you have no option but to delete the ups label and put the non-order aside and then it takes phone tag for a week to see if the person wants it or not and often or not they are still thinking about it, so when estimates are wanted for the shipping, we just figure the person shouldn't be buying such products in the first place, because if the shipping is between $10-$15 and that makes the differance between wanting the products or not, then odds are they really are not getting what they desire in the first place.
So I see why all the web stores just include a huge shipping and handling charge in the original price and NAIL their credit card when the order is placed and often or not they don't have a phone number for the customer to call and even a few don't supply a e-mail contact, I always avoid such web sites that don't at least give me an e-mail !!!
Since our hobby is mostly a hand made business, it can be slow and the phone rings and the e-mails come in and each one slows down the next caller. People often call and get a recording that the phone is full and you can't leave a message, this means 70 calls came in before yours and oftener than not, 10+ of those calls can be a person calling every few minutes and hanging up waiting until they can talk direct and ask if their order was sent, because their credit card doesn't show a deduction and the order was made yesterday and surely somehting got screwed up that their order didn't go out yet!!!!!!!!!!!! and naturally they never answer their phone and the phone tag is on.
This always makes me laugh because the guy I buy the pure oregano from is from another land and his time valuable....he will not supply a phone number that you can give your credit card info by or check on your order, etc...he told me I will not pay women to answer the phone. He said that is the most rediculous thing to pay someone to talk. Naturally he is big business out for the maximum buck $$$ while Brenda prefers to talk to everyone, but just doesn't have the time to do so, so its first come first serve with her and she does not want me talking to anyone or no ones orders would ever get out.
I have tried over and over to suggest people with out the extra $$$$$$$$ need not buy many herbs, BOOK I wrks for all humans and used no herbs, they can acheive their health goals with proper education. The last thing I like seeing are people who live paycheck to paycheck so badly that they must check their credit card every day in fear they have went over their limit. They really should not be buying products from me, they should be reading BOOK I and buying fresh fruits and learning the art of the fast. Herbs can be costly and I like them and enjoy making formulas as my prefered hobby, but I don't like seeing poor people buy them, I would rathur see them educate them selves to freedom using BOOK I.
The funny thing about those that keep asking about their orders, by the time their name comes on Brenda's call list or things to look up, etc..odds are the person has gotten their order by the time it has been tracked down. The only ones we need to hear from are those that UPS smashed their order, because many times UPS never notifies us. I assume some college kid suggested UPS could save a few million per year if they just negelected to notify the sender when packages were trashed in route!
