Because that garlic infuses very deep, and oozes from every pour, nook and cranny. I have no doubt your breath is fresh, but perhaps you are having those wonderful garlic repeats that that stuff is famous for.
I was once cornered in my office (at the very same time as hubby in his office) begging me not to eat garlic anymore. It was embarrassing, to say the least. We had to admit that we were indeed over-indulging in the stuff. Funny how it was the exact same day, coinciding with the 60 clove stuffed chicken we ate the night before with homemade pesto sauce. Yep, a slight over-do, but yum, so good.
Let your garlic breath flag fly. Poo poo those boys. Love your garlic breath, exult in it. Blow kisses to anyone that gives you the stink eye.

P.S. my unsocial Polish Mother-in-Law used to eat it raw (about 5 cloves a day) because she loved having room around her and sitting alone on public transportation. But she could never figure out why her baby grandson would cry after being cuddled by her for 5 minutes.
