I use Retin A gel because it works for me and I've used it for a long time. It works for my
Acne and wrinkles. I'm 49 and my skin still looks extremely youthful. People do not believe me when I tell them my age. It's not for everyone...but I really like what it does.
I do know that awful feeling of wiping that greasiness off every couple of hours and constantly using a powder to try to sop it up! When I switched from the Retin A cream to gel...it seemed to alleviate *some* of the greasiness.
I don't find apricot scrub to be harsh. I like it because it helps exfoliate dead skin.
Also, as I said before - the Alpha Lipoic Acid has helped immensely.
I use TYK white glow skin brightener. I've had sun spots ever since I got badly sun burned as a teen and this product really helps even out my skin tone. It is NOT a natural product – and
Hulda Clark would probably be hitting me over the head with my powder puff...but I still LOVE it. It not only helps even my skin tone...but it's also helps mitigate blackheads.
I don't think I've ever tried AHA's although I think the apricot scrub I use contains salicylic acid. I read somewhere that salicylic acid works better on oily skin than glycolic acid. I really don’t know if that’s true.
Like all of us fighting this problem...I’ve tried a ton of different products and what works for some of us sometimes doesn’t work for all of us. I did buy AVC and I’m on my second day...so we’ll see. I’ve been reading conflicting reports, though, about it contributing to Candida. I take probiotics anyway...so hopefully, it won’t be a problem.
How much AVC are you drinking? Have you had any adverse affects from it? I truly hope it helps you ...and all the rest of us who try it!
