I believe this article is an attempt to scare us into "just sticking with what we use now, fossil fuels", but i didn't read it all....

Yes, there are problems with some"reneewables", but those options are not what enviros are calling for.
"Bio-fuels" are the most carbon-intensive fuel today!! Anything GW Bush gets involved in is bad for the planet it seems.
read more about that from G Monbiot in his book HEAT
As for the renewable energy forms of solar and wind, those are what we need now, to reduce carbon emissions from our demands for energy. It must begin soon and go hard because we have wasted 15 years now.
This article you offered up is not right tho - they even complain about wind farms and the problems of them despite the fact that they are the LEAST problems, and gives us clean energy - coal plants are worse, natural gas electric plants are worse, biofuels are worse, hydro-dams are worse. etc etc.
Monbiot explains that more than enough energy for us could come by putting solar panels across about 20% of the great deserts of the world. That would not be a problem comaprable to global warming, or coal fired power plants, but hey this article compains about that too.
