Ironic isn't it that prior to Bush's little excursion there were no more al-Qaida in Iraq than there were WMDs.
The idea of the US being a much harder target than before 9/11 is laughable at best - our vast and often isolated border with Canada is wide open, as are our coastal ports of entry, and the Mexican border is still porous.
Add to this the backdrop of the recently signed Presidential directives by Bush which enable the Executive Branch of the federal government to seize power all the way from the national to the local level with the mere determination by the president of a serious threat to the U.S.?
And then we have the little tidbit that we now have the largest buildup of naval forces in the Middle East in history, with three Aircraft Carrier groups, and a possible fourth on the way.
Dicey times folks!
