I have receding gums, especially the lower front. I am afraid I will loose some teeth. I switch to making my own toothpaste with baking soda and salt and hydrogen peroxide but it is too strong and made my gum problems worse. I assume this would be good for my sensitive gums. Would it help receding gums grow back? This brush looks good but it is very expensive. Any idea how long you should go between replacing it?- Re: OIL PULLING! wombat

This is a reply to # 919,952over time! His dentist is scratching his head over Dad's MUCH-improved mouth - healthier gums, stronger teeth (no longer loose), whiter teeth, and still no cavities! Yes, my dad still has ALL of his teeth, but he was looking at having to have some of them removed before the oil-pulling!

I've seen a lot of people praising OPing but didn't know what it was and didn't get around to finding out until yesterday. I picked up some sunflower oil and started this morning. I could only go 5 minutes twice. I couldn't help from swallowing a little. A bunch of mucous came out. I'll see if I can go longer tomorrow. Made me feel kind of nauseous.
