I'm in my third week of healing after my fourth session of fractional laser treatment, and so far, to be honest I'm really dissapointed. There has been a noticeable (but small) improvement in the texture but the red/purple coulour is still as vivid as ever. Also the dramatic redness that occurs to the surrounding "normal" skin takes forever to heal...assuming it will (don't need this situation to get any worse).
Worse still I am confident that it has in fact created new stretch marks: the affected area had not grown in years, however following (approximately) my second session new marks appeared, joining on from my existing marks. Weather the treatment is responsible (perhaps by weakening the dermis in causing the microscopic wounds) or not I do not know, but it does seem rather coincidental.
Oddly however I would still recommend the treatment because everyone will react slightly differently and if you're like me I'm willing to give anything a try if it could dramatically improve these horrible stretch marks.
My hopes are now pinned on 5-6 sessions of pulsed dye laser treatment in a month or so when this has (hopefully) healed, in an attempt to tackle the colour.
