In my Quest out of darkness-- for ignored Wisdom at the disposal of every human being, I found a really cool website showing the harmony of the 5 elements of Nature with colours that go along with each element.
Red, Bright orange and Bright purple are the colors for Fire., Green or Torquise for Wood; Yellow, Ochre and Amber for Earth; White, Silver and Gold for Metal; and Black and Blue for Water.

The number #5 symbolizes physical man and the natural physical realm- It is no cooincidence that our Creator-- The Master Mathemetician, chose 5 elements to make up this physical realm. Each element has its own function-- all work as a Team and in Harmony. (That is something I noticed evident with everything in Nature -- even the organs in our bodies are designed to work as a Team!).
These elements are: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Fire consumes wood and refines metal. Fire is kept under control by Earth but only Water can truly quench fire.
(unless of course, your'e talking about an electrical fire--which needs baking soda to stop it....but that's another story!)
Fire also symbolizes our soul-- our emotions, and feelings that need to be grounded by earth, and often-times quenched by God (water) before they rage out of control.
Fire is also a refining element that destroys mixtures, and leaves only purity behind. So even though a person may be burnt emotionally in life, there is a refinement process taking place in thier souls that they cannot see during that time.
Even when wood is burnt, the ashes give nourishment to the Earth and plants spring up more lush than ever on this type of soil. The Earth symbolizes mankind.
All things work together for good for those who love Love. Most especially, so does getting burnt in life-- Count yourself blessed if you go through this rare process, even though you may be cursing and crying and going hysterical while enduring it.
When we study the visible things around us like the elements, colors, etc, we actually find ourselves tapping into knowledge never noticed before like this. I guess one never stops learning- the opportunities are all around us - even in Nature ;-)
