My take on V's post over here is that he knows we tend to be into not only OP, but anything tooth- and mouth-health related in general. Maybe you are new to this forum, but a few months ago there were some discussions about toothbrushing, what to use, paste v. powder v. bar soap, etc. Anyway, one reason for a discussion about the forum name (aside from the fact that "Oil Pulling and Oil Swishing" sounds so kinky on the face of it) is that this forum does take a great interest in things like inositol.
My take on the
Iodine as a magic bullet is probably rooted in the same skepticism you feel. I have always been suspicious of any protocol, therapy or substance that is touted as the one magic solution to everything. There are a lot of
Support Forums here at Curezone and I am sure people who hang out at other forums think their protocol or therapy is the magic bullet (although one thing I appreciate about this forum is that it has always seemed to me that people who hang around appreciate the benefits of this therapy but don't get too fixated on it!). But after learning about
Iodine in the past few months I have recently said to friends that while I don't believe
Iodine is the "magic bullet," so to speak (I personally think the magic bullet is really a whole lot of bullets we have to fire at once...), but it's something (iodine) that seems to affect every part of the body and which I have felt make a lot of those parts of mine look/work better. To the extent that if I were only going to continue one protocol or therapy forever, it would probably be iodine.
I'd have to start swishing with it so I could still hang out over here and be legit!
