F 49 yrs. Period every 27 days like clockwork. Also like clockwork approx 4 days prior to period- illness ranging from infections (severe fatigue, sinus/yeastinfection/Diarrhea/muscle aches, sometimes low grade fever), emotional status good. Work out with regularity until this hits then out of commission until I heal which is usually a few days after period. This takes from me a good week - ten days out of each month. Unable to exercise. Hemoglobin is hit by the infections/more so than the blood loss (which is quite mild). Any suggestions? I am on Iron, eating nutritionally sound, working out daily except for those 7-10 month. This is exhausting.. very hard to retain tone muscle with before period compromised state. Must excercise or gain weight average of 1/2-1 pound month. (not overwieght 123 for a 5 ft 1 frame= 8
pounds over what I should be) Do pilates, yoga, walking (2 miles every other day when not experiencing this challenge. Sexually active. Seeking related nutritional tips.
I work out regularly (abdominal, leg etc)thus normal aches and swelling of menstuation are minimal.
Now I would like to somehow get infection problem under control.
I am
juicing (carrot
Celery spinach apple)
and also diet is minus white starches for the most part.
This past month was welcome to the land of yeast infections and my body was not welcoming of the insert meds (burned and had to discontinue) and then the fluconizole one time pill triggered many days of diarreah. I was in bed for 4 days with sweats, fatigue and oh yes the hemoglobin dipped nicely in response.
I am putting up a great fight here.... working out.. eating right... and feel that I am not gaining on this. Drs are not able to comprehend what this is like. The closest thing I have hit on as far as information that seems to click relates to adrenal fatigue (not to be confused with adrenal failure). Holistic route may be an option.
