I have a bucket of Coconut Oil, and would like to use it to pull, but it's a few years old. I use it for body lotion after a shower and it smells/looks ok.
It depends on the type and brand of coconut oil you have.
If it's RBD'ed (Refined, Bleached and Deodorized), it may last for 1-2 years at room temp before it shows signs of rancidity.
Virgin and Extra Virgin coconut oils are the least susceptible to oxidation...and has the longest shelf life of all plant oils (thanks to the natural antioxidants CO contains) . I never refrigerate mine...and is working well.
Try pulling with what you have. If problems arise, continue to use as body lotion.
VCO is awesome to pull with. It's my favourite. It can be pretty powerful if you are new to OP, but it was the first oil I started with and still remains my first choice for pulling. I do use many other oils now, and being winter in oz right now, it is just easier to grab some sesame or sunflower, than have to melt my VCO, but I still love it.
