Hi, 9Feb05
I just read your post about small, pimple-like bumps on your scrotum and penis. Let me give you some life experiences from a 40something year old and what I've seen for myself and friends. When I was a young and naive 22 yr old, I thought I had picked up an STD from a prostitute who worked in Reno at the Mustang Ranch. About 1-2 wks after that sexual encounter, I developed a small to medium sized hard, red bump at the base of my penis where it meets the body (top side of penis.) I made an appt and went to a urologist. I was very embarassed to admit that I had had sex with a prostitute but figured I'd better be honest and not lie. It ended up being an ingrown hair! The doctor took one look at it and said that it was not an STD-like symptom. He lanced it open and removed the trapped hair. That little episode cost me about $150 but I learned a valuable lesson.
I'd suggest that if you have ANY fear of an STD go to a doctor or a clinic, such as Planned Parenthood. For a reasonable fee, you can be tested and at least you will be informed. It might be an STD or it might be ingrown hairs!
I've been shaving my genital area for over twenty yrs now and I haven't had that ingrown hair problem arise again. Also use condoms and don't engage in unsafe behavior. A few benefits of shaving are: you won't get your pubic hairs caught in the condom when you remove it (that hurts alot) AND shaving your package will make it appear to be larger!! LOL Hopefully you'll find a GF that likes to carress your shaved package. I'd say 99% of all women prefer guys to shave.
Don't be embarassed to go seek a professional's opinion. It may save your life or at least a lot of pain and suffering.
Have fun and be safe!
