This is a reply to # 883,768I'm concerned that you want to "desensitize". For one reason, I think you need to be able to tell if there is any pain involved so you know to back off. I understand using a regular lube to aid in comfort but not to totally desensitize.

The best thing that has been used for a long time by doctors is good old regular petroleum jelly, brand name Vaseline.
It does wonders with cracked skin and healing.

COntrary to its popularity, petroleum jelly is not a very good thing to use on the body and especially not in an area wher it will be absorved. Petroleum distillates are pretty toxic.
