Hi MamacatPatch,I would suggest that you try to arrange to have a visiting nurse come to your home to administer an enema. It will probably have to be referred by a doctor, but most doctors, even if they are not enthusiastic advocates of enemas, will authorize the administration of an enema by a health care professional. It's not at all unusual for nurses to make house calls to give enemas.
I would start by calling your regular doctor and asking if he or she would prescribe an enema and call it in to the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) or other home nursing service in your area. Ask the the prescription to be for "enemas as required" so in the future you would be able to call the nurse directly to schedule an enema whenever you felt the need.
In the unlikely event that your doctor is unwilling to order an enema, then just try calling the VNA directly and asking if they could make a home visit. If they say they can only do it on a doctor's orders, ask if they can refer you to a doctor who has authorized enemas for other clients they have assisted. In addition to medical doctors, the VNA will usually accept orders from chiropractors, naturopaths, and physician assistants.
If that fails, see if there is a listing for the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) in your Yellow Pages. If so they will probably be able to help you.
If you haven't had an enema in a while it's likely that you will need more than one to achieve the desired results, but in the end it will be worth it.
Please let us know how you make out. If you are unable to arrange for a nurse to administer the enema, get back to me and we'll try to figure out a "Plan B".
All the best, Valerie
