I am dealing with folliculitis (large painful itchy zit-like bumps) on my scalp, a weird thing that began a few months ago on my back and has moved into my scalp. Long term folliculitis *will* cause balding...hence my absolute interest in getting rid of the folliculitis (lol).
Last week, I kept thinking about soaking my head in ACV...so I started doing it. I used about half-cup full strength ACV and a large bowl, and just dumped it all over, collecting the run-off in the bowl and reapplying it until my head is literally drippingly soaked, then wrapping my head in a towel and letting it sit for 30 minutes to 2 hours before rinsing it out. I've probably done it 6 times altogether, total (sometimes I would do it a few times a day).
I was wondering, though, can this hurt my skin? I want to try and kill the infection, but I don't want to burn myself in the process. Right now, I can't tell. My head feels great with the ACV, yet afterwards it still itches, but I'm not sure if it's because I've really irritated the skin, or if it's because the infection is still alive and well. ???
Any thoughts?
