After the nurse gave me the Tetanus shot, I felt a strange tingling going
up the side of my neck, the same side as the injection.

Over the weekend, I felt exhausted and ached all over. I stayed in bed,
assuming that the pain would go away. On Monday, even though still
hurting, I managed to go to work. My muscles became very stiff with deep
burning and stinging sensations, especially when I moved.

...later on - Even though I felt as if I was going to pass out, I got in my car and drove the 80 miles and somehow
found the facility. My legs would seize up and become very stiff. I would
have to lift them with my hand in order to use the brakes or change gears.
It is a miracle that I didn't have a traffic accident.

Then the typical reaction by the medical profession:
" I thought the Urgent Care physician would see my pain. After telling him how much I hurt, he said it was only stress and that I should relax and maximize my food intake. Stress does not cause excruciating, burning pain! He said that once I relaxed, the soreness would go away."

I had a tetanus vaccination after an injury in 1990. I developed a
headache by that night that lasted for 3 months. Within a week of the
shot, I developed optic neuritis, the injection site swelled to the
size of an egg, and I had blindness in one eye for three years. This
escalated to paralysis on the same side of the body as the blindness

So there you are - personal testimonies that will remain obscurities in medical literature so as not to cause problems for the PharmaGiants. Meanwhile - are WE suffering from "Tetanus titrate"? Are my grandkids going to be afflicted like I am? I would do anything to avoid THAT!!!! [help me, help me!]

I stumbled upon this post after looking up tetanus shot side affects and listing mine, which were severe anxiety, stiff neck, muscle pain, stomach ache, and hand shaking /tremors. I am so relieved to read this. I thought I was losing it when I went through the anxiety and anxiety attack. The hand tremors scared me. Now I understand. Tetnus affects the nerves. Good thing the shoot is good for 10 yrs. I don't think I'll be getting this one again!
