Hello:
I had 11
Amalgams replaced in January 1999 with Z100A2 by 3M white fillings by a holistic dentist after I had taken the compatibility test..
Since the dentist who replaced the
Amalgams cleaning (by hygienists) charges were too much, last 18 month’s I have gone to an ordinary dentist who cleans the teeth himself and his charges are almost half of the holistic dentist.
However, in the last few weeks I have felt sensitivity on the left upper teeth after chewing gum for about 10 minutes or so. I had cleansing done last week and did ask the cheaper dentist to check but he did not find anything but he did mention that I had the largest filling in the upper left quadrant, he also remarked that from the xrays he thinks that the last tooth on the same quadrant does have some mercury left.
I have made appointment with the holistic dentist the coming Monday as I feel that the fillings should be checked now and I also wish to find out about the mercury that he may have left when replacing 8 years ago.
My question is I have read about Cerec fillings, should I ask my dentist if he has that and in the event he has to replace a filling should I request cerec or would the Z100A2 by 3M would serve the purpose? I have had 11 fillings for the last 8 years and this is the first time I am filling the sensitivity. Also, are there different types of CEREC and are they very expensive?
Thank you for any suggestions.
