Sorta.. There's not going to be a cure from "modern medicine any time soon", but there's even less likelihood of a cure from folk medicine.

The virus, as I've pointed out here before, is a snippet of DNA that becomes a part of the cellular DNA of the infected cell. This is all very well documented in many peer reviewed publications. There's currently no way to remove it without killing the cell, which rather defeats the purpose. About the best we can hope for is an effective vaccine which ideally would provide pretty much the same result if it can act as a theracine as well to provide relief to symptomatic folks as well as preventing new infections.

Currently, the available antiviral drugs provide usually effective episodic relief from symptoms if started as soon as an outbreak is sensed, or, of used suppressively can prevent outbreaks and reduce shedding greatly so that an infected person is less infectious.

Good luck with your accutane treatment. It was effective for one of my sons when he used it about 15 years ago.
