Hi Pinky! You should really address your questions to the
Iodine support forum. The forum has only been around for a short while so I am not aware of any posters on the forum who have resolved PCOS, YET. We do have members who are using
Iodine for that reason and I expect that we will be hearing success stories soon!
Here are a couple of links for you, the first is documentation of PCOS being cured with
Iodine therapy, this was written by Dr. Jorge Fleschas:
http://iodine4health.com/ortho/flechas_ortho.htm
“Iodine deficiency may cause the ovaries to develop cysts, nodules and scar tissue. At its worse this ovarian pathology is very similar to that of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). As of the writing of this article I have five PCOS patients. The patients have successfully been brought under control with the use of 50 mg of iodine per day. Control with these patients meaning cysts are gone, periods every 28 days and type 2 diabetes mellitus under control.”
Then I did a search for "ovarian cysts" on
http://www.iodine4health.com
. That website is a goldmine of info on all things iodine. Here are the results of that search:
http://search.freefind.com/find.html?id=2625368&pageid=r&mode=ALL&n=0&_charse...
So, do a little reading and you will see that yes, iodine supplementation can cure PCOS. The iodine is taken either in the form of iodoral, which is available from
http://www.breastcancerchoices.org
, or
Lugol's solution, which is available from
http://www.jcrows.com
. There is a more complete listing of resources in the FAQ's of the support forum. So, check out the links I have given you & please address any questions you might have to the support forum! :)
BTW, I have fibrocystic breast disease. I have been on iodine supplementation for 9 weeks now. My cysts are dissolving:)
