Laura of Chino Hills, CA (04/17/07)
I ordered the "free" book which cost $9.95 for shipping & handling. I placed the order on 12/4 and was promplty charged. When I didn't receive the book, I spoke with someone in customer service [initially under the guise that I wanted to order a book since there is NO OTHER NUMBER TO CALL]. I was told that the book would take 10-12 weeks to be delivered.
As of today, I have not received the book. I have left messages at the now 'AUTOMATED' number as well as sent an email. NO RESPONSE.
Brandy of Corry ,PA (04/17/07)
I used to be an operator who took calls for this product. I've read all the complaints about the newsletter. Here's what actually happens:
At the end of the call the operator states, "Thank you for ordering Weight Loss Cures books and to show our appreciation we will send you a 30-day free trial to the natural cures.com website and newsletter. If you like it, it's just $5.95 per month and will be billed to your account."
Then the operator asks you if there is anything else that they can do for you. It usually passes people by and unless they say they do not want to be enrolled in the newsletter, we have to enroll them, via Mr. Trudeau's company instructions.
Please do not hold fault to the operator, they are only doing what they were being instructed to do.
Marie of Westlake Village CA (04/16/07)
I ordered his 2 books that were advertised here in the L.A. area on KABC. I was signed for his news letter automatically and charged to my credit card. When I tried to call the number, there is no human you can talk to, it is all voice animated, and therefore, was unable to cancel.
This is being charged without my approval and cannot talk to anyone at the given phone number.
Peggy of Clinton NC (04/04/07)
Ordered the weight loss book and purchased another one for my daughter, along with his first two books at a special price, plus paid the extra $9.95 for rush shipment, 'cause I couldn't wait to read this book since it must be great, because it is on the tv ALL THE TIME!!!!!!! This is the biggest bunch of garbage I have ever read. You would not be able to hold down a real job if you did everything he suggests that you do to lose weight. And my daughter has read a lot of the book just for comedic purposes! Well, slap me on the back and call me scammed!
Terry of Cleveland OH (04/01/07)
I bought his book and read through it hoping it would help me with medical issues I have. Everything referres to something else. It's been over a year since I've bought this book. I keep seeing him doing different things. Now today i see a weight loss book. I think this man should be put out of business. He claims he's done all this stuff to help you out and buying his books does nothing but make him more money. My moter-in-law ending up buying another book a few months ago. No prevail has it been worth it. Something needs to be done.
I was hoping to have to stop taking medication to get me through the day. The only thing that has happened is i'm taking more and more. to help me sleep, control my acid reflux, anxiety.
Robert of Bremen IN (03/31/07)
I ordered the natural cures book and never got them and I'm being charged $5.95 a month for a news letter i cannot cancel.
so far the total amount of money stolen from me is $49.95
Joshua of Mesa, AZ (03/22/07)
My wife 'bought' the book More Natural Cures from Kevin's website early in November 2006. It's now late March, and she still hasn't received the book. It appears that Kevin Trudeau's business has failed to stand behind its claims for many.
I think that if Kevin's operation continues to scam people out of their money, and fail to deliver, then we as individuals need to file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission, and the States Attorney General Office.
J H of Washington, DC (03/17/07)
This book is another example of Trudeau's need to make money at any cost. It requires dangerous injections, and application of so-called biotape, and it is all ridiculous.
Phyllis of Waldron, AR (03/17/07)
I ordered Kevin Trudeau's book a year ago. I started receiving newsletters with the charge of $5.95 on my credit card. I called my credit card company for the phone number to cancel the newsletter, but they did not have one. I e-mailed cancel@naturalcures.com, but I am still being billed.
Sharon of Newark DE (03/16/07)
I order just one book, and paid double what other sites were selling it for because I wanted it quickly. It took approximately 3 weeks to receive it. I was Charged $39.95, two days after receiving book, another unauthorized charge hit for $9.95.
Diane of Bellvue, NE (03/15/07)
I purchased Natural Cures off TV. Was charged for newsletter I didn't want. Was billed again on credit card on Jan 22nd for news letter.
I called and asked for a refund and was told my card would be credited. I no longer receive the newsletter but have not received a refund.
Had to cancel my credit card and open a new account so this creep can't keep stealing from me.
Margie of Bakersfield, CA (03/12/07)
I bought the book,The Weight Loss Cure by Kevin Trudeau. On page 93 he instructs us to take an injection of 125-200 units of hcg (human chorionic gonadotrophin). I went on line and look it up since I had never heard of it. Well----it is used in fertility treatment. The side effects can be very serious.
I do not intend to follow the diet because nothing that I have read so far has the slightest bit of common sense. The man is a maniac.
Pam of Ellicott City, MD (03/11/07)
Why are Kevin Trudeau's infomercials still running here in Maryland? I thought they were banned.
They are for a book with a 60-second permanent cure for weight gain and hunger, that will also magically sculp your figure to perfection after you lose the weight!
I didn't buy it, I would just like the rulings for his infomercial ban enforced.
John of Holbrook NY (03/06/07)
I ordered two books and received them, that was fine, then I started receiving news letters that I never ordered and I am getting charged each month. I have returned them but they still keep coming.
Stephanie of Beavercreek OR (03/03/07)
I ordered the book and they offered 2 Natural Cures books for free, I paid an additional $9.95 for rush shipping in 3 to 5 days, it has been 13 days and I have yet to receive anything. They charged my account and did not leave a number to contact to dispute. What number do I need to call to dispute this? I have sent emails and have heard nothing in return.
Jacqueline of Deer AR (02/23/07)
I ordered one book from a telephone ad and now I am charged $5.95 for a newsletter that I did not want or order. It seems that there is no way to either cancel it or get my money back!
Darrell of Brockton MA (02/15/07)
I called an infomercial number to order Trudeau's newest book "The Weight Loss Cure." The purchase was paid for by credit card and to date I haven't received my books or an e-mail regarding my purchase. I have sent several e-mails to billing@naturalcures.com and support@naturalcures.com. I spent a total of $71.50 for three books, $30.00 that went directly to shipping and handling. Why? All three books are shipped together to begin with! And an extra $9.99 for rushed delivery, that has yet to happen.
Janice Rizzo of Wellesley MA (02/15/07)
I ordered Natural Cures from an infomercial in early Sept. Many months went by and still no books. I was charged $71.40 and every month $6.25 for newsletters I didn't order either. Finally after three or four months I got a couple of books.
They're still charging me for the newsletters that I didn't order. Terrible business practice by Mr. Trudeau.
Letty of San Antonio TX (01/31/07)
12/06 I order 2 books, I got the book and returned them. Never got my refund. Now on 12/06 I get a 71.40 charge. I have been sending emails to every possible address requesting and making sure the charges stop. I emailed newsletter@naturalcures.com., billing@naturalcures.com., cancel@naturalcures.com. Still no response.
Checks bounced due to a charge that I was not expecting.
Christine of Bothell, WA (01/31/07)
I have been billed for $71.40 as of Jan. 07 without authorization and have not been receiving newsletters since Oct 06. I have tried the 1-800 # on the bill but get a recording telling me to go to a website which I have not gotten any response. I thought there was a law against this.
Lois Sterling of Wichita KS (01/30/07)
Purchased shipping for "free" books and received them more than a month later. Then I received the first newsletter, which was an old one.
It had no informatin on how to cancel on it. I received the next one and tried to cancel but that did not work. Sent email from the web site a month ago to cancel and sure enough I just received another charge yesterday. I have now sent emails from 3 different email addresses to CustomerSupport@itvdirect.com to cancel the newsletter. I am being charged $5.95 every 4 weeks or so for a newsletter I never wanted.
Emerson of Brooklyn NY (01/30/07)
While watching the infomercial on “Secrets They Don't Want You to Know About“, I purchased the book and was told the CD was free. I received the book and CD on Oct. 2005. This was billed to my AMEX card for $71.40. On Dec. 2006 it was posted on my AMEX bill again for $71.40. I tried calling the number on the CD (not a working number), and called the number on the AMEX bill (not a working number). AMEX temporarily has taken the $71.40 off my bill until further investigations.
Why is Kevin Trudeau still on TV after reading all the complaints from other customers since 2004? All I wanted was the book for $14.95 - I fully explained that I did not want any magazines or CD.
Penelope of Redmond OR (01/25/07)
I paid for two books- that's it. Now, every month $5.95 is taken from my checking account! I have tried in vain to call the toll free number but am routed to a website that is not working to end this "subscription" that I NEVER authorized! I have sent back the newsletters and have written e-mails to the "contact us" at the bottom of this website, "ITV Direct".
This order was by telephone and I did not agree to anything but the purchase of these two books. Aside from closing my bank account I don't know what to do!
Marion of Trail OTHER (01/22/07)
Back in October of 2006, I watched Kevin Trudeau while he was talking about his books. A telephone # was offered, so that consumers could order his books. I did, but was reluctant to give my credit card # and assured them that I would send a money order for the full amount which I did. Since I had to purchase a money order in US dollars, I also had to pay for the conversion as well as 4.50 for the money order.
I waited and waited and waited ... the books did not arrive. I contacted my post office where I had purchased the money order and had to fill out forms, tracers and claims. The post office sent me a copy of my money order and sure enough, it had been deposited in their account in short order. It is now January the 22nd and I still have not received my books. I am angry, angry, angry.
Linda of Fair Oaks, CA (01/21/07)
Thank you for your listed consumer complaints against Kevin Trudeau's corporation. I was about to order his 2 free books but when I called the number he gave, I found it to be a recorded voice having nothing in the message about his books.
That's when I checked the web. Boy, am I glad I did not order these "FREE" books. From what I've read, it sounds like nothing but TROUBLE! Thank you for posting these where searchers can find the whole story! I won't be getting involved.
Cheryl of Long Beach, CA (01/13/07)
I saw an informercial of Kevin Trudeau promoting his book. It stated that if you call the 800 number you would receive Mr. Trudeau's book free.
So I called the number, gave them all of my information, plus my credit card number. Even more it was stated that if I paid more I could receive his book in 5-7 business days. That was in the middle of December '06. They took the money from my credit card, but I have not received my book(s) as promised.
Philip of Venice, CA (01/11/07)
I ordered two books from Kevin Trudeau Natural Cures Revealed infomercial over two months ago, and had not recieved anything to date. Then to my horror I came across this web page. With no working contact numbers to stop my late order, I contacted my credit card company to warn them of possible future billing. They said they couldn't do that and they will investigate at a later time, after I have been billed. So heading off fraud, before it happens, is not a concern to the credit card companys.
Toni of Tampa FL (01/10/07)
I ordered Kevin Trudeau's 2nd book on TV from an infomercial for $9.95. I then received the 1st book which I have, not the one I ordered. Also, they keep taking out $5.95 a month for a newsletter that I was to receive free and then if I wanted to continue it, they would take it out of my checking account. Which I don't.
I have not heard from anyone and the $5.95 keeps coming out every month. And I am still receiving the newsletter. I can't find a phone number to call. I would still like to receive the correct book and stop the newsletters. Usually there is a phone number next to the debit on your checking account - there is none, so I don't know who to call.
Armand of Napa, CA (01/10/07)
I purchased the book and ordered the newletter via credit card, for one year subscription only. Well, the next year Kevin's office automatically billed me TWICE for membership which I did not request. And monthly he has been taking an amount from my credit card without my approval.
And now, this new year, he continues to do the same.
Trying to reach his office or business has been hassleing and impossible.
Kathleen of High Point NC (01/05/07)
I ordered Kevin Trudeau's natural cures from an infomercial. The book was free, I just had to pay $9.95 for shipping and with that I was supposed to receive one free issue of his newsletter. All I had to do was cancel it after 30 days so I wouldn't be charged. That was two or three months ago. Needless to say I never received the newsletter and now, in January 2007, they tried to take $5.95 out of my bank account twice. I had just paid bills so I had no money in my account and now I owe the bank 81.90!
I am disabled and cannot afford this. I've read so many complaints and can't believe I fell into it. I'm in debt with the bank and cannot close the account because of what I owe.
Jill of Bluffton, SC (12/17/06)
I ordered his book from the infomercial and I have been receiving withdrawals from my account that are unexplained. When you call the number all it says is that you can email the company. When I tried to email the company, I got the response that their spam guard is on and it was undeliverable.
Bob of Burlington NJ (12/06/06)
About two years ago i signed up with this individual for a 'lifetime' membership to his newsletters. For about $300.00 I was guaranteed to save money before the monthly newsletter started publication. For about a year I was able to access the 'Naturalcures' website and read the monthly publication. Now when I try to access the website, I am told they have no record of me as a subscriber. There is no phone number to contact these folks, and the e-mail sites listed for contact will not connect with anyone.
I have been scammed out of my money. I realize I spent it freely, but I now want others to be warned of the deceptions pushed by Trudeau and his company.
Jon of Garden Grove CA (12/06/06)
I sent about $20, via credit card, for 2 Natural Cure books touted on Los Angeles TV, however, my daughter has never received them.
Cherlyn of Mckinney TX (11/29/06)
I ordered the Natural Cures and More Natural Cures Revealed books in September 2006 after viewing the Kevin Trudeau's infomercial. It is now almost December and I still have not received my books. I have called twice and left messages and sent an e-mail with no response. Luckily, I put the charge on my American Express card and they have given me provisional credit. I am voicing my complaint because it appears Mr. Trudeau's company has done this to many people. I hope this helps in some way put a stop to this kind of fraud. I admit I made a stupid decision buying something before researching the person selling the product.
Ann of Picayune, MS (11/11/06)
I cancelled the Natural Cures newletter from Kevin Trudau's company over one year ago. At that time I was credited the $71.40 on my credit card.
I recently began receiving the newletters again; I did not reorder them. I checked my credit card statement and noticed that I had been charged another $71.40 this past July for these newletters.
There is no contact phone number for the company. I have emailed them on their newletter cancellation link requesting a refund on my credit card and to remove all of my information from their databank.
Kimberly of Denver, CO (10/30/06)
I ordered two (2) books last year and received them, but now I've been charged $71.40 to my bank debit card less than one year later. I never authorized this charge and have not received anything from Natural Cures, Inc. - not a book, a bill, notice or anything. There is no phone number I can find for this company, either on their newsletter or their website. I've emailed and faxed them every day for the last 3 days, and still no response. I have filed a claim with Wells Fargo to dispute the charge.
I'm on a tight budget right now and having $70 taken out of my checking account throws off my finances, not to mention the fact that I spent over $50 for two useless books.
Mike of Appomattox, VA (10/10/06)
I am still being billed for monthly newsletters after calling more than a year ago to cancel. I have been billed twice in the amount of $72.00 each time for something that I have not ordered or want to pay for.
I cannot get through to a phone number now to find out why.
Nancy of San Diego CA (10/10/06)
Ordered by phone Kevin Trudeau's two books on Natural Healing on 9/6/06 for a cost of $19.90 (supposed to be shipping cost only) and was told it would arrive in 2-3 weeks. Now the recording says 4 to 8 weeks and gives a bogus email to contact for order tracking. I've called three times and realize I've been scammed.
Loss of $19.90 Not much money (so far) but how does he get away with this?
Gaymond of Bronx NY (10/07/06)
I ordered Mr. Truedeau's book More Natural Cures They Don't Want You To Know About almost two months ago and have not received it to date. I can't recall the telephone number given on the informercial and have not way of reaching him. I checked his website but did not see any telephone number. I was prompted to write this based on the numerous complaints people have written from the US and other countries. I believe in natural cures but I am beginning to believe that Mr. Trudeau is doing a disservice to those who believe in proponents of natural cures.
I lost the equivelent of the shipping and handling which I think was about $18.00
James of Dothan, AL (10/06/06)
In late August, 2006, I received my visa bill with a charge of $71.40 from NATURALCURES.COM, INC. On 9/5/2006 my wife and I sat down and figured out that on August 14, 2005 we had ordered two books from Kevin Trudeau that were charged to the visa card. Now on 7/24/06 they bill me for a subcription for $71.40.
I called on 9-05-06 and was told the charge would be off my card in 7-10 days. We were out of country until 9-30-06 and when we get home we had a bill with a late charge of $15. I called on 10-2-06 and left a message to cancel my subcription and for them to call me. On 10-03 my wife did the same plus called the credit card company.
Audrey of St. Petersburg, FL (10/06/06)
I watched one of his infomercial and ordered 2 "free" books and 1 other book for $15.00. I was charged $32.00 on my credit card.
That order was 6 weeks ago and I never received the books.
Rebecca of Belmond, IA (10/05/06)
I order his books over a month ago. I sent a money order but never got my books. I lost $20.
Cathy of Phoenix AZ (09/01/06)
For months, I've been intrigued by the Natural Cures infomercial. I noticed one night that Kevin was offering his original, Natural Cures They Don't Want You to Know About and then his second book, More Natural Cures, for free. Only pay shipping and handling. Well, I must admit, I was dumb. I fell for it. But, not the free book deal. I went to amazon and brought the new book and a used version of the first book. He leads (and I use this word strongly) you to get his book cause the secrets to everything good is in his book. Ok, so you get his book, then you find he won't give you the secrets. He keeps LEADING you to his website. Ok. So, I go to the website to get these secrets to good life.
You get to the website and he gives you just a tidbit of information and tells you to get the real secret you have to be a member of his website. That's where he's making his money. You have to pay 10.00 a month to get these free secrets. Kevin badmouths government agencies for lying to America and saying it's all for money. Everything boils down to being paid to pad pockets. Well, Kevin...what's your excuse? Aren't you leading people along to buy your books, then you charge them 10.00 a month for access to your fabulous secrets? Save yourself some money folks, Here's the secret...eat a lot of raw fruits and veggies. You'll live forever, so says Kevin Trudeau. And that didn't cost you one penny.
Chris of Lakewood NJ (09/01/06)
I used to be one of the people who answered the phone for Kevin Trudeau's natural cures books. The company I worked for had no association with his business aside from processing the orders. We had a huge script that we were REQUIRED to read. If we didn't read the whole thing then our call volume was cut as punishment. I used to hate getting book calls because I knew 3/4 of the people would hang up before I completed the entire script. I eventually ended up getting fired because I refused to work on the "liars lines," the infomercial lines. We had to upsell, sell, sell, lie and everything else.
I do apologize to all the people I confused and mislead by what happened, if I had known of Trudeau's reputation before taking the job, I'd rather have starved.
Joyce of Lewes DE (08/25/06)
i have been a subscriber of kevin trudeau's newsletters for some time now, i was keeping a folder of my monthly letters i have been receiving, because they were 3 months late, i tried calling the phone # on the newsletter, the operator says that the number that i dialed cannot be completed as dialed, so i haven't been able to get through, i am paying for letters that i am not receiving, i want my money back if he is no longer in operation. i believed in this man, i really thought someone was fighting for us and protecting us from the government in regards to our health, boy was i wrong!
Esther of Adkins, TX (08/24/06)
I placed an order for a free Natural Cures book after seeing a TV offer. The operator asked if I wanted the 3-5 day delivery, and I agreed.
It has been 2 weeks and no order. I called the 800 number and they gave me two numbers to call, but they are not working numbers.
They have debited my account and I hope they will not continue to charge me for products I don't receive.
Linda of Soperton, GA (08/21/06)
I placed an order for Natural Cures (from an infomercial on TV) on June 30, 2006. Not realizing that when they take the order you MUST sit and listen to a host of other offers that you don't want before they will finalize your order. By the time they get to the end of the offers my blood was boiling but managed to maintain composure while still giving an infatic NO to each offer.
The book came and inside the envelope was a free CD. There is no information on the CD nor in the book that cures anything as he is representing on his infomercial. When my credit card statement came there was the charge of $24.95 for the book and a seperate charge of $71.40 for another transaction. To date I still don't know for what they are charging me.
This has been such a hassle for me to try to clear up but rest assured I will not let up until it is.
Brittny of Mableton ,GA (08/08/06)
I bought Kevin Tradeau's book about a year ago, and he is still charging my acount a year later.
I'm a college student and my account has been depleated several times because this guy is taking my money!
Katarina of Bendigo, Australia (07/31/06)
Ordered two copies of the book (Natural Cures AU$58.40)over the phone. I gave them my credit card details. They asked for my address and zip code but I realised after I had hung up I forgot to tell them (and they didn't ask me what country I was calling from)that I was is in Australia. My bank statement shows two debits have arisen from my order. The first one was for the correct amount, but then there was an additional debit a few days later for a higher amount as well. The books, of course, have never arrived. Have tried to ring the phone number for Kevin Trudeau given to me by my phone company but unable to get through on it.
Billed for more than double the amount of order and still no books. The ten digit serial no. which is attached to the withdrawal receipt is false.I was told by my bank that the ten digit reference number which is a withdrawal receipt number is a phone number and that if I was to attach 0011 on the front of the number that it would be the phone number for contact with Kevin Trudeu's business. This proved to be a false number as well.
Mary of Middletown, DE (07/30/06)
What they don't want you to know is that upon ordering Kevin Trudeau's book Natural Cures is that you also join his website. Now I can't cancel the subscription.
He is also "stealing" money from me for his newsletters, that I asked him to stop sending 3 or 4 months ago. I have sent several letters to him and he keeps saying he will get back to me in 7 to 10 days, but I haven't heard a word.
Ernest of Monmouth Jct NJ (07/29/06)
I joined this company for few months then I cancelled the membership since january but I am still being charged.
Garth of Paso Robles, CA (07/23/06)
Natural Cures continues to charge my credit card for $71, after canceling my account over a year ago.
Joanne of Fremont, OH (07/16/06)
I have been receiving up to 6 duplicates of the Newsletter each month since April, 2006. I have requested that I stop receiving his monthly newsletter ($9.95) and have asked to unsubscribe from the Kevin Trudeau's Natural Cures Website ($71.40) Yrly. They have not replied to any of the emails reguarding my requests.
There is NO way to contact them by the number on my Visa card that is given after the charge amount, and the number at their Customer Service Dept. is no longer in service either. All the numbers that I have tried calling are Not in Service anymore.
Kate of Pittsburgh, PA (05/21/06)
I called to order this book for $14.95 after watching Trudeau's interview with Tammy Faye. While on the phone, they tried to sell me another book, CD's and a subscription to a newsletter, none of which I wanted.
BUT the newsletter is something you're automatically subscribed to and it's my responsibility to call and cancel within 30 days. Should I really have to worry about that when I all I wanted was the book!?
I explained that I'd rather go buy the book at a bookstore than go through all this trouble over the phone. I understand Trudeau has to make money like the rest of us, but if he really cared about our well-being, he wouldn't be ripping people off.
Maggie of Kingston Springs, TN (05/09/06)
I ordered the Natural Cures book from an infomercial. As I was placing my order the gentleman asked me about buying additional items. My answer was no each time he asked. I said very clearly that I only wanted to purchase the book.
When the transaction was final I repeated to the gentleman, "My account will only be debited $24 and that's it?" His answer was "yes". Exactly 2 days later I noticed they debited my checking account for $24, they also debited it an additional $71.40. For what I don't know!!!
I called and they said they would issue a refund and it should take 7 to 10 business days. She also said she would issue a refund for the book if I returned it and never opened it. It has been 12 days and they have still yet to refund my money.
Bernadette of Emporia, KS (04/18/06)
They illegally charged my credit card $72 for a newsletter that I did not authorize. When I called for a refund, they said that I would have my refund in 10 days - that was last August (2005). I have made several subsequent phone calls to no avail.
Please help the next unsuspeciting victim of this creep and his website and scams!!!
Carla of Ashland, KY (03/19/06)
I ordered the Kevin Trudeau Natural Cures book for $14.95 and shipping charges of 9.95 for a total of $24.90. I received a packing slip for the total amount that was put on my debit card. The same day they took another $71.40 out of my checking acct without my knowledge. I did not order anything else, receive a receipt or invoice.
I was planning to send the book back for a refund, but now I doubt they will refund.
Gregory of Finleyville, PA (02/27/06)
In May '05 I purchased the online Natural Cures 1-month service that allowed me to download anything from the natural cures.com website. My credit card was billed for the month of May. The service should have been over unless I signed up again.
I was billed $9.95 in June, then July and until November 2005. I looked on the website in June (thought I will eat the June charge), but there was no way to cancel, nor was there a contact. In Nov. I found an email address and was told my subscription was cancelled, but I am still being billed the $9.95 each month.
How do I get my money back and stop my credit card from being billed each month?
Bill of Burbank, CA (02/21/06)
The book was supposed to be $14.95 but I was billed $24.90 plus an additional charge of $71.40, that I have no idea what it is for. I have not received the book.
Joe of Joliet, IL (02/18/06)
Kevin Trudeau uses the same deceptive marketing practices that he accuses the big corporations of.
I used a toll-free number to order his book for $14.95 and ended up getting $71.40 billed to my credit card. When you call for the book you get a hard sell for magazine subscriptions, newsletters, and other products and merchandise. He does NOT say on the infomercial that these are the conditions for getting the book for $14.95, instead of the publisher's price of $29.95.
He states he wants everyone to be able to get the book, but what he DOESN'T say is that you have to subscribe to the free newsletters. There is also the offer of three free months of 3 different magazines, which you are IMMEDIATELY BILLED FOR! In addition to that a phony telephone number is listed on my credit card statement which makes it impossible to cancel or dispute anything.
Laurel of Crossville TN (02/12/06)
I purchased his Natural Cures book. After dodging very aggressive attempts to purchase more items, I was told that I would be charged for the newsletter, as well as the book. However, I was told that I could cancel the newsletter subscription the next day and be refunded the extra charge - so that my total charge would end up being $24.95 for the book alone.
I received a charge for $70, which I have disputed, been told that it would be refunded and it has not. I'm beginning to see how he's earned his reputation as a scam artist.
Todd of Kingsville, TX (10/4/05):
I am a Registered Nurse and I have had patents quit their medication because of this book. I purchased the book to see if there was any scientific data to support Kevin Trudeau's claims and I believe the book is a bunch of junk.
In addition, three months later I noticed I was being charged $9.95 per month from this company. I called the number on the bank statement and was informed I had to cancel "my subscription" which I never knew I had. What a rip-off!!
Claudia of Phoenix, AZ (8/28/05):
I bought this book following his infomercial over 4 weeks ago. First of all, I have not received the book or been contacted by anyone with the status on the order. Second, my credit card was charged $47.00 for the actual book plus s & h charges, and just a couple of days after I bought it I found it on sale at Costco for $16.00...what a rip off!
What makes me even more upset, is that I can't even find a phone number to contact them. Lesson to be learned here: As consumers we should be suspicious of any websites that do not list a contact phone number.
We will never understand why consumers think a phone number does them any good. Phone calls are not legal notification of anything -- a registered letter is what's called for, along with a little judgment. We;d say Rule #1 should be: Ignore infomercicals.
Cynthia of Laurens SC (7/27/05)
I purchased a book by Kevin Trudeau that tells you cures for any kind of diseases and sicknesses. What a rip-off. You buy the book and then he refers you to his website (naturalcures.com) and wants you to pay again for the information. Or try to sell you more books. I think he needs to give everyone's money back. He needs to be stoped by making money off of people that thinks they can buy something at an inexpensive price that can't afford prescription drugs.
Kathy of Huntington WV (7/26/05):
I called because I was considering buying his "Natural Cures Book" and the telemarketer said I was going to be billed $7.95 a month on my credit card for a monthly newsletter I said I didnt want, then and additional $7.95 a month for a $25 gift card to Target or Walmart. Its a scam, I'm furious! When I said I didn't want the additional things they said I had to buy them anyway and had to call two different numbers to cancel otherwise I would continue to be billed the 2 charges.
Sandy of Pacific WA (6/6/05):
Mr. Trudeau's television infomercials should be stopped completely. He uses misleading claims not backed up in his book "Natural Cures They don't Want You To Know About". After ordering a copy of his book the only thing it did was refer me to his website for "all the wonderful natural cures" but it costs almost $500 to join and receive all of these "so called cures" or $9.95 for a monthly newsletter (without the natural cures listed).
My friend I ordered 2 of these books. Our health is poor and we hoped to find something we could use to help us feel better. Instead we got a worthless book and great disappointment. Also, we have been let down and not protected by the government agency responsible for keeping frauds off the air and television.
Pat of Plano TX (5/20/05):
Kevin Trudeau advertised on TV to buy his book that would give his recommendations on how to naturally handle diseases (e.g. diabetes). As a Juvenile Diabetic I figured it would be worth reading however, there was "NOTHING" regarding what could be used to help my condition. All he keeps saying in the book is that "it's all about the money" of the food industy and pharmaceutical companies but it's "all about the money for him".
He tells you to go to his website for specifics and then there's a charge for this as well, even after I spent $29.99 on the book. I'm glad I looked into complaints on him before I signed up since it seems there's nothing on website even when you spend MORE money. I want my $29.99 back and Kevin Trudeau you should be ashamed of yourself. Next time I buy anything off of an infomercial I'm going to research it before spending the money. He STOLE my money and I want it back!
Actually, Pat, you gave him your money. It's up to you to decide how you spend your funds and look out for your health. If you willingly seek advice about your diabetes from an infomercial instead of from your doctor, you stand to lose a lot more than money.
Anna of Oceanside CA (4/29/05):
On TV Kevin Trudeau says to buy his book to learn how to cure many diseases or ailments. When I received his book he continually refers to his website which is another cost. I feel he does not represent himself correctly on TV. You can NOT read his book for any answers to ailments as he says.
Karen of East Moriches NY (3/29/05):
I recently purchased a book written by Kevin Trudeau that he claimed gave you "home-remedies" that apparently cured all kinds of sicknesses and diseases. However after I read the book, the only thing that I learned was that it was nothing but trash. It gave you no information on curing anything. There was no remedy for anything. The only way to find the information on his "natural cures" is by going on his website (www.naturalcures.com) and paying more money i.e.$9.95 a month. It was just a trap to get you to spend more money.
He claims in his book "that it is all about money" he was right about that. He is the biggest abuser. Conning people into believing his book would have natural cures in it and then not delivering. Unless you wanted to pay more money to access his web site, which may not have any information in it either.
John of Clifton NJ (1/16/05):
$9.95 to ship one book is excessive. Tried to order his book "Natural cures and remedies they don't want you to know about." While trying to place the order, we asked several times for the total amount. We gave our credit card number up front, and they kept trying to sell us other items. We refused stating we only wanted the book, but they kept us on the phone for over 15 minutes. When they told us $9.95 in shipping and handling, we canceled the order.
We don't know if Kevin Trudeau is a rip-off with his claims. We do know it doesn't cost $9.95 to ship one book. This indicates to me the guy is $$ hungry, and not really interested in helping people with his health claims and advice. I believe KT has the right to publish his views in so far as the FTC ruling against him. I understand the book is shipped from NJ, where I live. I suspect the shipping cost would be around $3-4, perhaps to California it would be around $5-6.

I purchased a book written by Kevin Trudeau, that he claimed gave you "home-remedies" that apparently cured all kinds of sicknesses and diseases. However when we received the book in the mail, the only thing that I learned from the book was that it was nothing but trash. It gave you no information on curing anything.
It only gave you reasons why you might be sick or fat or unhappy. There was no remedy for anything. The only way to find the information on his natural cures is by going on his website (www.naturalcures.com) and paying $9.95 a month. This guy just wanted to sell a book and he did it. A book full of useless information, and a trap to get you to spend more money.
Robert of Ft. Hood TX (1/8/05):
I had thought this (person) has been banned through the FTC in dealing with InfoMercials. I see him almost daily being broadcast through my Time-Warner Cable. This non-physician makes too many claims with reference to medicine for which he has no degree or affiliations. I think the Federal Gov't needs to better handle ANY organization who airs his program.
Sharon of Marietta GA (1/8/05):
Mr. Trudeau had stated on the program "A Closer Look" with Pat Matthews that his book was not available on the market. While attempting to order the book "Natural Cures" by telephone, the customer service representative was given all my credit card information and then attempted to sell me other items. When I informed her that I only wanted the book she transferred me to her supervisor. The supervisor was abrupt and I advised her that I did not wish to purchase the book because of her poor behavior. The supervisor responded fine and hung up.
Since I did not feel comfortable with her behavior I called back and spoke with another csr named Leah who gave me a 1-847-777-7131 number to call to complain. The csr Heidi who handles complaints was equally as rude and informed me that she could do nothing. My objections are to the misleading information given by Mr. Trudeau that his book is not on the market when it is in fact sold on Amazon and various other sites.
In addition upon further investigation it appears that Mr. Trudeau has had several FTC lawsuits and complaints against him. Why is this person allowed to go on television 1/8/04 and promote his misleading information. Accordingly, it was stated that he was banned from infomercials but he is still advertising and misleading the public. I wish to register my objection to all known entities.
Kim of Mount Pleasant TN (1/5/05):
My husband ordered a book for me -- "Natural Cures They Don't Want You to Know About" -- since he has been battling cancer for the last two years. This book was supposed to be filled with answers and natural cures. Instead, it tells you to go to his website. You go there and they want you to pay to join and get information. Whar a crock.
There was nothing in the book that wasn't on the show he was on. I would like to know how to get our money back. Maybe people like him think this is a joke but it is not a joke to someone who has cancer and is willing to try something new to stay healthy.
Angie of Flower Mound TX (12/30/04):
Twice this week I have seen infomercials for this book with Mr. Trudeau making his claims on A Closer Look. A time counter and phone number to order the book for $29.95 were on the screen. I can't remember which channel it was here in Flower Mound (Dallas area), TX, but it was on basic reception in the first 12 channels. I went to the internet to try to find the book and found several on Ebay's half.com. When the price was almost $29 used, I began my search on google. This is when I discovered your article that says this infomercial is banned. I almost bought this! Please get this off the network!
Paul of Bartlett TN (11/21/04):
Kevin Trudeau got me. Never believe a 72-year-old senior with a 139 IQ can't be had. What's worse, he used the same approach I used when I was courting females, years and years ago. It always worked then and it still works now as evidenced by my purchase of his book on Natural Cures. Yes, I actually bought the damn book and all it did was try to sell me more books.
But his method was very effective as I said, I used it myself. Here's how it works. Try it yourself. You tell the person lots and lots of things they know are true and pretend you're amazed they are smart enough to realize this. Then, carefully, slip in some tainted information you want them to accept and bingo, they naturally think this is true too because you have said so much other stuff that is true. Very very effective. Am so ashamed of my stupidity I would never try to prosecute as I don't believe it is a crime to make a fool of another person, but sure am (angry) that I have been had while thinking I was so damned smart.
Donna of Russell KY (11/11/04):
We were promised if we bought 10 bottles of coral calcium we would receive Kevin's new book. We never received the book, said it was on backorder. Now he is selling it on TV. I called, they said they would send a book. Never came. Called again said they couldn't send book, the one promised was a mistake and they would be refunding the $100 for the calcium. Made no sense, and have received neither. What can I do?
