Yep, its TRUE! L-lysine does get rid of herpes Outbreaks, just like acicloyvir, and quicker - in less doses.
A lot of you lovely people recommeneded me to take l-lysine...
within 3 days? my verdict?
10/10. my sores have shrunken and vanished, pain has gone, and i'm having lovely vivid dreams
i brought a bottle by a popular brand, and its 1,000mg per capsule. i took 1 twice a day (it was suggested between 3,000-9,000mg! but my body is very good at absorbing things - vits, oil pulling etc, so i started at a low amount for an outbreak)... i noticed a small blister pop up on day 2 it had no redness, juss fluid filled. i popped it, washed and dried, and applied my favourite topical treatment..coconut oil (sooths the pain and redness)..
so thankyou all who suggested this, i will take a capsule every day for life to suppress this nasty virus, until there is a cure!
i'm a very happy cure-zoner!
i also want to oil pull, and take l-lysine...i hope this will stop the Outbreaks :-)

I think there may be some benefit to it as an immune booster. One of the ladies that I work with uses it to ward off or treat cold sores and seems to have some positive results. I tried it when I was first infected genitally and didn't see any difference.
I think I'd do some research before I went on a long regimen of it at higher doses, but episodic use should be pretty safe. It's not going to be as effective as the antivirals.

i've found that l-lysine on its own isnt as effective (thats 2 1,000mg a day) as it is when taking a 1,000mg capsule of vitamin c with biflavanoids ASWELL
i found this out when i tried to take my regular vitamin b with also has "C"...i had a small outbreak, i was so dissapointed
i also tried 1 1,000mg lysine with 1 1,000mg capsule of vitamin c...a very minor OB with one bump
so the only solution for me is 2 l-lysines a day and 1 vitamin C (1,000mg). I take 1 lysine and the vitamin C first thing in the morning before eating, and the other lysine before i goto sleep
antivirals didnt clear all my outbreaks and made me as sick as a parrot.

This is a reply to # 892,908L-Lysine works, although i had to up the dose to 6000mg to clear the infection, have read people taking between 1000 - 3000, but some sources said you can take up to 6000mg in the case of a outbreak. a recurring non-healing constant infection was a contender for 6000 for me. although clearly i have immune issues to need to take so much, so its not something i plan to take so much of for the rest of my life, but deeply grateful for the relief, till i can get my immune system back on line. ALSO used topical coconut oil, im one happy boy.
