Someone please help. My face swelled up in 2002. I believed I had an abcess in my tooth. I had to get a root canal to remove the tooth because my face became swollen. I didnt go back either for a replacement tooth or whatever. However ever since, my right side of my face has never been back to being tight again like my left side of my face. Everytime I can feel the right side of my face, I can feel a more swollen ball on my face especially when I smile. I dont know what the swollen ball is though. I wish I knew the medical term. Is it too late too fix this or will this thing be on my face forever? Someone please help me if you can. I want my skinnier right cheek back.

do you still have the tooth there or did they pull it? either way, what you describe sounds like a cavitation. you will need to go ot a biologic dentist who does them and have it cleaned out.

This is a reply to # 846,670Actually, it sounds like you have an unresolved infection which can be for several reasons such as not completing treatment or possibly another tooth being abscessed. You need to see a dentist ASAP as unresoved dental infections are a constant strain on your immune system, and in the worst case senario can even be deadly. Make an appointment today if possible.
