Mainstream medicine kills far more cancer patients than it cures. The reason for this is simple: mainstream medicine looks at the body as a collection of parts. This works great for repairing broken bones and other physical injuries, but fails miserably when treating disease. Instead of addressing the underlying problem that leads to degenerative conditions like cancer, mainstream medicine treats only the symptom - the part of the body where the underlying imbalance manifested itself as a cancer.

And then the slash and burn way they treat it by cutting it out, nuking it or poisoning it, leaves the major organs and immune system damaged and weakened, often helps the cancer spread, and paves the way for the cancer or another form of cancer or serious disease to return and gain a foothold with an even weaker natural defense system left to fight it. Or else, as you say, the patent dies as a result of major organ failure or simply wasting away during treatment. Most such deaths are attributed to the original cancer, and not the treatment that actually caused the patient to die.

The most common organ failure is liver failure, and for good reasons. The liver is the toxic waste dump and processor for the body. Fortunately, alone of the major organs, the liver is able to repair and regnerate itself. During cancer treatments of any kind, the liver becomes over stressed from a heavy load of toxins that are released from dying cancer cells. As Gerson and others have demonstrated, an impaired liver is necessary for cancer to develop to begin with, so cancer patients start off with a weakened liver. Gerson also found that Liver Cleansing during cancer treatment was essential to prevent the liver from being overwhelmed and failing.

What is true for natural treatments like Gerson's is doubly so for chemo and radiation because they further weaken an already impaired liver and then kill cancer cells in mass while striking out at the symptoms of the condition they fail to acknowlege or treat.
