This is some information I found while researching peppermint oil. Some of the information comes from audio cassettes and some of it can be found in the book, "Essential Oils Desk Reference". There is a lot of research and testing being done with Peppermint oil (and many other therapeutic-grade essential oils). I think it is an exciting and powerful health giving oil.
Peppermint oil is one of my favorites! I love to put a drop in my drinking water. It is so cooling, refreshing and health giving. I also dilute 1 drop peppermint oil in 1 tablespoon of organic coconut oil to take internally as a digestive aid.
NOTE: If you plan to take peppermint or any essential oil internally, be sure your oil is approved for internal use. Many essential oils are for aroma-therapy use only or are adultrated with chemicals or other harmful processing.
[EDIT]
This information is ONLY relating to Young Living brand: If you are using another brand of peppermint essential oil, I do not know the quality or purity. You will need to research it's source and concentration, etc. It is always important to know the source of any essential oil BEFORE using. This is especially true when applying an essential oil to your skin or taking orally.[END EDIT]
Has anyone used peppermint oil? I would enjoy hearing your experiences…
