DRUG CLASS AND MECHANISM: Ipratropium bromide is a bronchodilator that dilates the bronchi in the lungs. It is used in treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease associated with chronic bronchitis and emphysema. In chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cholinergic nerves going to the lungs cause narrowing of the bronchi by stimulating the muscles surrounding the bronchi to contract. An "anti-cholinergic" effect of ipratropium bromide blocks the effect of the cholinergic nerves, causing the muscles to relax and the bronchi to dilate. The fluorine ion is an enzyme inhibitor. The one side effect common to fluorinated drugs is memory loss. These drugs, including Prozac (fluoxetene)--and Paxil--anti Depression drugs, contain three fluorine atoms in each molecule that kill enzymes in the brain that normally maintain mood stability.
Prozac and Paxil contain Fluorophenyl compounds which contain fluoride and cause liver disease.. Organic fluorides are transformed in the liver, and the resulting metabolites can have higher activity and/or greater toxicity than the original compound. Prozac can cause hepatitis and promote tumors in the liver.

MoreThis is a reply to # 836,048i was on one of the ssri's for about ten days, that was long enough for me to feel it was way bad for my body. not just my body, but i could feel it do weird things to my energy. i know some people say they cant function without them, but i am CONVINCED there is a better way.

I went cold turkey off of Paxil and then lisinopril as I KNEW they were killing me. The doctor insisted OVER and OVER it was not the drugs (I swear I was in there once a week). Within a day of cold turkey from one and then the other, the withdrawals from both felt better than the way I felt taking the drugs if you can believe that... have not touched any prescription or OTC since.- Re: Bromide Inhalers for Asthma?? trapper/kcmo

This is a reply to # 836,073the doctor called me in for a physical last year and I did not go... if he calls this year I may go just to get comparative tests so I have some documentation of how far and in which direction I have come.
I am sure it will be dramatic for the better and I may post them. If I had stuck with him and his recommendations I would probably be dead right now... or worse, gutted and in a bed 24x7.- Re: Bromide Inhalers for Asthma?? finallyfaith

Without my experience with this, I would think most of alternative medicine wacky. I know better now; without doubt, the healing lies within us... not some outside money making machine.

This is a reply to # 836,079I am sure I have a ton to detox... I am not even phased by my 4 x 8 drops yesterday... I am doing a 5 x 6 drops today. I am feeling I need to take a day of rest though and may do that here tomorrow and possibly Thursday... maybe 4 x 2 drops. Feels like the brain and nervous system are both firing on most cylinders again...

This is a reply to # 836,094yes, it makes sense... fish contain mercury, however if the fish is not over burdened with the mercury it is bound to selenium which enables the mercury to pass through the body instead of being absorbed.
Some call the "mercury" fish issue a scam because of this. I would still go for cold water wild caught species though.- Re: Bromides #68716

However doctors are told which drugs to push by the pharmaceutical reps who play a game of kickback, AND for the most part WE (the public) want a magic bullet; even this Iodine forum phenomenon is evidence of that.

My sister has had breast cancer, took the standard treatment, AND a lot of natural-type supplements and got through it okay, but now is on that hormone-disrupteo, forgotten the name, and is taking "the highest dose possible" of Celexa-- for the "side-effect" ( white-coat jargon) of the chemo (grrrr) and claims it still isn't enough. I'm quite concerned about her--and she, of course, is quite worried about the cancer 'returning'--a stressful mind-state her body (and intuition) must be telling her is a good possibility.
:-(
I wonder where iodine might fit into her picture.
Oh--she's also asthmatic.

Do a search for celexa and fluorine... you will get many hits. Also read the possible side effects list etc.
Not sure how one would go about Iodine supplementation in this case. Maybe start with a good quality kelp and see how it progresses from there.

This is a reply to # 836,014they are everywhere. i look out across the crowd in walmart and i think, yes, it is nice having these people too stupid and docile to do anything but aimlessly roam the isles and consume. its frickin brilliant, i tell you. what the hell would we do if they all suddenly got lives? they would be a force to reckon with, then, and they would have autonomous power. OMG!
