"Scientific investigations start with anecdotal evidence, but they don't end there."
Hurray!!! I'm glad you said that. Now let's see if your work measures up to that standard. Where is the scientific investigation with an independent and a dependent variable giving an example of what you want to prove?
Your post quotes Rosemary as saying she used something different from
Colloidal Silver . Try to keep in mind that every treatment that goes wrong is not always part of a remedy in the field of Alternative Medicine.
Rosemary finishes off her sad anecdote with the above quote. That applies to her, too. Not just to other people. However, she doesn't have a scientific investigation, she has her own anecdotal evidence.
No one is recommending scientific investigations start and end with anecdotal evidence unless it's Rosemary herself. There are plenty of people who are fans of
Liver Flushing but you don't see their anecdotal evidence in the usual encyclopedias or on governmental pages. (..I don't know of any such pages.) Neither you nor Rosemary have provided the scientific investigation showing that
Colloidal Silver taken in parts per million as prescribed (by Alternative practitioners) resulted in a silver face. Even though you don't have this scientific investigation showing the silver result, you say you do. Is this being honest? If the health benefits of a
Liver Flush done by an individual is anecdotal evidence, Rosemary's evidence is anecdotal too. It is fair to compare the two as examples of anecdotal evidence.
One anecdote with health benefits had good results (liver flush), the other anecdote (
Colloidal Silver protein) had bad results. If you are going to criticize other people for making money by using anecdotes in their advertising, make sure you are not using anecdotes in your advertising or in your proof. I'm going to borrow a quote from some here who like religious quotes. "Cast out the beam in your own eye before criticizing the mote in someone else's eye."
definitions for those who find them usefull:
dependent.......relying upon
independent.....initiating changes
................free
beam....piece of timber
mote....tiny speck of dust
