I've been oil pulling for a few days now, and I'm worried that it might harm my porcelain veneers. I have them on my front two teeth, and I've read things about fillings coming out, ect. while oil pulling. Will oil pulling make my veneers come off????- Re: oil pulling with veneers molly bloom

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the filling were temporary or coming apart anyway. I've been pulling for about a year, and my fillings are still firmly in my mouth. I wish they would come out!
Oil is just food. It's not a caustic substance. And your veneers are just like teeth. And the stuff that holds them on is about as permanent an adhesive that you can get since you use your teeth in so many ways. Think about the pounds of pressure you put on your teeth when you eat?
My feeling is that nothing will happen. But I can't say with 100% positivity that it won't. If one falls off, I'd go back to that dentist and tell him to reattach the tooth, since he did such a shoddy job! I have no love loss for those people. Sorry, my personal problem....
The one thing is the color. I'm not sure if your would get similar whitening effects?
It's going to have to be a personal choice. If you decide to go for it (your gums will be very happy) then please continue to post and let us know.

I worried about my veneers after reading about someone's filling coming out, and also another person lost a crown and wondered if pulling might have been to blame. (???) I would look funny if my front two teeth fell off! ha. What personal benefits have YOU experienced from pulling? Also, I've been pulling with coconut oil just because I had that on hand. Are the whitening benefits as good with coconut oil, or is sesame oil a lot better? I'm new at this, so anything you can share will be great!

A while back in the fall someone posted a picture of her teeth before and and a couple of weeks into OP, if my memory serves me. October or November. Can anyone remember who that was? Was it Fallingsnow?
I have had much whitening of teeth and eyes with sesame and sunflower in the past couple of weeks. I had a gallon jug of olive oil that I used for a long long time. That was not whitening. I am glad that is over. I love these lighter oils.
Somehow the OP process is whitening teeth but not removing stains on mine.
I am going to have to go to the "dennis" and get the chompers cleaned and see if I have veneers or not. Part of me thinks I do on the front teeth. I had braces, I have smoked probably a million cigarettes, lots of coffee, and so my teeth were not exactly pearly from the giddyup but I can tell they are brighter.

My teeth are most definitely whiter. I did Sunflower for many months and now swish as the wind blows me. I've never used Olive Oil, and most likely will not. Walnut and Apricot and Hemp are my favorites. But Sesame is fantastic too.
